Anyone just back? How was your stay?

I know this has been asked and answered, but I can't get search to work!

What grocery stores and restaurants are near Vistana Villages? Also, we'll be arriving around 2 PM. Has anyone had a problem with early check in?

I'm getting excited!!!

Stayed at V V in March 2002. There are 2 Publix Supermarkets
close by. A short drive up International Drive ( the road V V is on) there are loads of resturants. The place itself is beautiful. Our unit (Bldg 3, 3rd floor) was very clean. The views off your balcony ( screened with table, chair, & ceiling fan) are awsome. We are going for 18 day at Christmas and had hard time deciding between V V & Fort Wilderness. We decided on Fort Wilderness to be in Disney & we can have a golf cart there to cruise the campground. We tried to check in early & they were not ready. Think it was about 3 when we got in. Talking about it makes me want to be there :)

We loved V V ... so huge and awesome. The washer/dryer was my fav! LOL.
SO much room in there.
Can you do half and half? It isn't a big deal to change hotels. IF you are there mor than 7 days it is worth it.
All the best to you!

We just got back a week ago. We were in building 9, a little bit of a walk but nothing too bad. The grounds are great, the units are well decorated and spacious. We were in the one bedroom luxury unit and the room had 5 sinks, a whirlpool in the master bedroom, a lking sized bed, full kitchen and the screened in balcony. The pool is fantastic. My 2 1/2 yo, loved the zero depth entry. She could go in to the depth she was comfortable.

There is a Publix 1 mile down the road. Across from Publix is the International Designer Outlets (we didn't go there...not enough time). It is an extremely easy drive into WDW. The maximum time we spent was 10 minutes, door to door with minimal traffic. It's really close to Sea World.

The only downside is there are not many places to eat so you have to drive a decent distance to get a restaurant meal.

We are going back next year.

We stayed at the Vistana Villages in May 2002. We were able to check in early - maybe 2 p.m. - to our 2 BR unit. It was absolutely beautiful - both the resort and our unit. The only negatives are no pool slide, the pillows were way too soft for DH and I and the croaking frogs (we had a "wave" machine so it wasn't really a negative for us).

You are a quick drive down the road from restaurants/grocery stores. However, you must drive there. You are a close drive to Downtown Disney and the Cross woods center also. We loved being able to have breakfast and some dinners in our fully equipped villa. And here's another thumbs up for the washer/dryer!!:Pinkbounc

Does anyone remember what specific restaurants were nearby? I'm thinking about those evenings when we come back to the room exhausted and I'm NOT COOKING! Is there a pizza delivery place? How was the food at the pool snack bar?

Thanks!

The food by the pool was tasty but not a great value for the money. The day we arrived I got a chicken caesar wrap. It came with potato chips. It was $7.69 or something close to that.

I have my favorites when we go to Florida (places we don't have in Canada) so we drove a bit to get to those places (Carabba's and Kobe). 192 is about a 10 minute drive and there are TONS of places to eat.
