We stayed in the unit 2234 in the Cascades Section. It was beautiful. The unit was large - 2 BR, 2BA with a jacuzzi in the master bedroom. The place was clean and the view from the balcony was wonderful - overlooking water falls. The balcony was screened in and had a table and 6 chairs outside. There was a fan there also. We were on the top floor so our unit had the skylights. This was wonderful. The table in the dining room was gorgous. There was a large tv in the living room, and each of the bedrooms. The kitchen was big with everything you could ever need to cook in. They left about 6 packs of dishwashing detergant to wash your dishes in the dishwasher. Be sure to take laundry detergent to wash your clothes. Our washer and dryer worked very well and came in very handy. The pools were great. We spend most of our time in the Cascades section. We did go to the Fountains and the Lakes pools they were nice also. The Falls pool was kind of small but nice. All of the sections looked nice from the outside. I would definately stay here again!!

Momuv2poohs,
I'm glad your stay at Vistana was great. I know you were getting a little nervous after reading some of the negative postings right before you left. I can't wait........7 weeks and counting!

How easy/convenient was check-in & check-out? Did you use the Diamond Express check-in? Did you notice the new building in the Lakes section?

It took about 5 minutes to check in through the Diamond Express Lane. No one approached, nor did they call us to try and do a tour. The Lakes and the Fountain units looked great on the outside. I was not able to go inside of one, but I did drive by them just to see what they looked like. I personally liked the Cascades pool better because of the age of my children - 7 and 1. The fountains pool was more for big kids (they did have a kiddie pool - but it was pretty small). It is really just preference. They were all very nice and any of them would be great. I would not have minded being in any of them. I liked being in the Cascades section, it was close to everything. I hope you have a great time. I sure did. My son decided we would just stay there, build an extra bedroom on (so he would have his own and his sister would have her own) and never come back. Boy, wouldn't that have been great - my DH would not have had to go back to work and we could have just played and played. LOL

My kids (ages 5 & 9) would probably want to do the same thing. :p From what I've heard, there's a new (3 months old) building(s) in the Lakes section of Vistana. Their website is not updated yet to reflect the numbers of this building(s). I think we would like to stay in the Lakes or Fountains area, hoping it won't be as crowded as the main area in July.

I have a couple more questions. Where did you all eat while you were in Orlando? Any restaurants recommended near Vistana? How about at the Parks?

Hey Thachi!! We ate at Tony's (?) House of Ribs. I can not think of the name of it - but it was really good (you go past FAO Shwarz and then it is on the left). We ate at O'hana's at the Polynesian Resort in Disney one night - it was ok. We lucked up and got to eat two separate nights at the Crystal Palace where Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, Eyore and Piglet were at. It had excellent food. Then one night we ate at Margaritavilles in Universal Studios. It was really good if you like Jimmy Buffet music. We ate alot at Denny's for breakfast (late brunch). We found that sleeping in, going swimming and then getting a late brunch and then hitting the parks and staying until they closed worked best for my family. The kids seemed not to get to worn out until the very end. We had a great time - only waited about 10-15 minutes for each ride. The parks were not busy at all. The only problem we had was I thought the pools were cold. While we were there the weather was about 75-80 during the day and then at night (when we wanted to go swimming when we got back to the parks) the temp out side was only about 65-68. I stayed cold while in the pools. Also during the day, the wind would blow and I froze. My son was fine though. We had a wonderful time and I sure hope you have a great time.

Hi momuv2poohs, glad your stay at Vistana was good
Are you going to post a trip reprort?
Did you use the shuttle bus to Disney?
Could you use the swimming pools till late at night?
Hope you don't mind answering my questions I will be going in Sept and any information is great Thanks

Hi Disneychild. I did a trip report, just do a search here on this board. Yes, you could swim until 1:00 a.m. We had a great time. No, we did not use the shuttle bus. We had our own car and it took only about 10 minutes to get there. We had great traveling - no traffic!!! We went at a great time of year. We did not have to wait in line more than about 10-15 minutes for any ride. After you read my trip report if you have any more questions please just ask I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
