My family of 6 is looking to travel in 1st week of Dec. I've seen great rates for Cypress pointe on hotelkingdom.com. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a place for a cheap reservation for Vistana? ...couldn't find one on Hotelkingdom.com.

Also does anyone have a preference between the two places?

Thanks -

Just got back from WDW on Monday. Stayed 4 nights at CP and 5 nights at Vistana. We liked them both. Vistana is much bigger, more pools, more activities, and overall, nicer than CP. We got great rates at both places, paying less than $ 70 per night at each for a 2 bedroom. Got the CP through Hotel Kingdom, and got the Vistana through an owner's referral. We had to take a timeshare tour to get the good rate, but it was not too bad a tour, and they gave us a $ 100 bill at the end of the tour. Either place is good.

One thing to consider is that you can get a 3 br unit at CP, but not at Vistana.

I own at Vistana, but traded my 2 br for a 3 br at CP this past October. We were 4 adults and 4 kids, so it was nice to have the extra space.

I am assuming when you say family of 6, it's 2 adults and 4 kids. At Vistana in a 2br, you'll have one king, 2 fulls, and a sleeper for bedding, so you'll probably have to double someone up unless you have a little one in a crib. At CP, you'd have 2 kings, 3 twins (the 2nd bedroom has a trundle) & a sleeper -- and you'd have 2 full bathrooms!! ;)

Thank you for the info. I think I am leaning toward CP at this point. Especially with the deal going on for a 2 bdrm @ 64.99 on hotelkingdom.com.

Now about booking it... Any suggestions as to how far in advance.

We are planning on going in beginning of Dec. Also, I have been reading where you need to pay the entire amount for this hotel upfront. I'm assuming you had a good experience with hotelkingdom.com. Any further info or tips to booking this would be greatly appreciated. This is our first venture outside the world, and I'm getting excited seeing all the amenities you get for such low prices.

Thanks again.

To get that deal, you'd have to book it right away, those kinds of things are time sensitive.

This is not a hotel policy, but a policy of hotelkingdom. Every booking source will have different rules.

I've never used this service, others have good luck with it. If you have to pre-pay, make sure that you know what your cancellation options are. I never pay for anything this far in advance -- I don't want anyone else holding my money for that long! But others use it as a way to budget, it's just very individual
