Hello All,

I'm hoping that there is someone out there with experience with the Diamond Lane. We just purchased a Lakes timeshare at Vistana and will be using it for the first time in September. We have another couple going with us that reserved a 2 bedroom through RCI lastcall...

My question is. Do you think that we'll have a hard time getting Vistana to assign them to the Lakes section? Both families have little kids to we just want them to be close to us...

Anyone have any experience with this? Was Vistana accomodating?

Best advice I can give, is for both of you to request that you be near eachother in the Lakes. Both fill out the Diamond Lane form. Can't hurt to drop a fax to the attention of the Vistana Room Controller either.

It might happen. If you "suggest" that your friends might be interested in buying into the Lakes, but wanted to see it first, it might help ? Just word your DL request and fax as nicely as you can. It did work for us one year. We had family that did an RCI exchange and were going to be put in the Springs. We own in the Fountains. We asked nicely and were obliged. So anything is possible.
Good luck ! Have a great trip !

Thanks for your advice!

I was reading that Vistana assigns the rooms a week or two in advance. I was thinking that I'll do both diamond lane requests now then call about a week out. Maybe at that time they can tell me where we will be....

Hi Brian....
I think they probably try and do a rough draft a week or two ahead of arrival, but we've gotten to the resort early and had a choice of 2-3 different rooms on occasion. So I don't think the room assignments are carved in stone a week before. The earlier your arrival, the better chance you will have of your requests. Even if you check in at noon and the rooms aren't going to be ready until 4 pm, you can still repeat your requests and would have a better chance than someone who gets there at 4 or 5 pm. Good luck :thumbsup2
