First post here but have done plenty of lurking.

We stayed at Vistana Resort July 2006 in the Lakes section (room backed up to the pond) and loved it. 2BR was clean, well stocked, and huge. It was perfect for our family of 4 and the allears.net rate couldn't be beat.

We are planning on going back next month (now with family of 5). My 6yo daughter is in a wheelchair and I'm curious about the ADA accessible rooms. We didn't think to request one last year and it wasn't that big a deal, but we also had an oversized stroller then. Does anyone here have any experience with them? What section are these rooms in? How are they different from the standard rooms?

I'm also going to cross-post on the disABILITIES board (Mods-I hope that's okay).

Thanks,
David

Hi, we stayed at a two bedroom accessible unit at the Vistana Resort a few years ago. The accessible bathroom is directly off of the second bedroom, which has two double beds. The main issue was that there is no flip-down shower seat and no shower stool in the roll-in shower. Since we had not known this, we ended up sliding our big cooler into the shower for me to transfer over to and sit on. :)

The rest of the unit was spacious with the lowered light switches and knobs on the front of the stove. Some of the lamps were placed so that I couldn't reach them (furniture in front of them), but that and the roll-in shower were the only problems we had with the unit.

Hope you have a wonderful time!
