This is for a Dec/2005 trip, so I have lots of time to research and (ofcourse) rethink every move I'm going to make! :p

I have been looking at WP/3 bed. condo. It's really nice and it's $540 for the week.

Then I saw Vistana Resort/2 Bed.. This would be a little less expensive IF I could get it on skyauction.

Let's just say, for argument sake, that I would have no problems getting the Vistana. This would be the first week or so in Dec. so I don't know how much pool time we would get. We don't plan on being park commandos, but we would have SOME down time at the resort. One non-park day we would probably spend some time at Wilderness Lodge eating at Whispering Canyon, walking to the petting zoo at Ft. Wilderness, sipping hot choc. by the beautiful Christmas tree at WL, etc........

I have 3 children, 11, 8, 4..........I don't think having an extra bedroom would be the deciding factor being that we are not used to having extra room anyway(did AllstarMovies with all five in the room when one was 2 and we did fine). Vistana sleeps 6, WP sleeps 8.

I guess what I am trying to ask is if WP has any pros over Vistana because I could get Vistana cheaper.

What is anyone's experience?? Thanks :sunny:

Stayed at Wyndham and also Vistana Village NOT Vistana. I guess for me the deciding factor would be the pool and I am pretty sure you will not be using the pool in Dec at least from my own experience. I would go for the Wyndham Palms if it were me. The rooms at Wyndham are much bigger but why not just get the 2 bd rm at Wyndham? Wouldn't that be equal in price to Vistana?? I have heard that some of the Vistana rooms are older and what if you got stuck in one of those? I know the Wyndham is all fairly new. I also know that if you did chose the Vistana and the room was not up to par then you can contact both the resort management or even the corporate office and they will make it right. I know this was probably not all that much help but...

Bella she is refering to Windsor Palms. We satyed at Windsor Palms in May and had a blast. The place is very nice. However, we did stay in a pool home and not the condo section. Having your own personal pool can't be beat!

Didn't Windsor Palms used to be called Wyndam Palms and then they changed their name??? Thought I read that somewhere here a while ago. Maybe that's what bella means............

I would LOVE to rent the home with the pool. But that would mean not only paying more for the home, but paying an extra $35-$50 a night for pool heat. And I'm not sure after paying all that , that we would use the pool all that much in Dec. The difference in price then was pretty substantial. If this were March-Oct. we were talking about, I would feel differently.

If we rent the condo, at least if it is a sunny, warm day, we can always go over to the clubhouse pool and swim.

Bella...........there are only a few 2 bedrooms to choose from on villa direct and vrbo, and the price was only $5-10 cheaper. And most were on the second or third floors (no elevators) and the 3-bedroom I have picked out is on the first floor near the clubhouse. So I thought it was worth a little extra money. What do ya think??
