Getting ready to do my request. We stayed in the Cascades last year and loved the pool. We never made it to the Fountains pool. How does it compare. Is it the zero depth entry. I have a 4, twin 6's and a 13 year old. Does anyone have pictures. I loved the Cascades zero depth and the waterfall. If the Fountains have the zero depth is it just entry or is there anything special like the water fountains at the Cascades? When looking at the map it has the Fountains and Lakes in blue and another Fountains in tan. It doesn't state Fountains I or Fountains II. We have a Friday check-in for 2 weeks. Are the Fountains II and Lakes as nice as the Cascades?

The Fountains pool is excellent but there is no zero entry area. The shallow end does have nice wide gradual steps though (with a railing). The pool I love is the Lakes pool. You can get to it from Fountains or Lakes units. It is zero entry and much quieter than Cascades or Fountains pools. The Lake units are very similiar to Cascades. They are 4 stories and are laid out pretty much the same. The Fountains are 3 story walk-ups. I like them better because you can leave from the front or the back (through the screened porch). They are a little bit older than Lakes and Cascades but still very nice. You'll enjoy either of them ~ however if you loved Cascades then you may be happier at Lakes.
Enjoy!

Someone said there's a slide in (I think) the Falls section...I was in Cascades last summer, hopefully again next week! I went to Cascades and the Super pool, that was it. I'd like to drive over and let the kids use the slide one day.

Yes, the Falls pool has the slide. We have visited all the pools at the VR and this pool is one of our favorites. (We like to pool hop!) The Falls pool is a smaller pool so it's much easier to watch the kids - and relax. The bathrooms are easily accessible. It is not a zero entry pool but there are large steps in a couple of areas plus the shallow area is shallow enough that most 4 year olds can stand with their chest/head above the water. The Falls pool is also close the main activity center, mini golf, basketball courts, shuffle board, playground and a couple of other pools (Courts and the Super Pool). The kids also like to try the "hot" tub right next to the Falls pool.

FYI - the dive in movie is shown Thursday night at the Fountains Pool.

Here's the Fountains Pool (correct that there is no zero-depth entry) :

Hey Miasrn62! I know that you are an expert with Vistana questions. Where is unit 1866? I am crossing my fingers.
Tara :wizard:

Is Lakes a new section? They sent me this # in my confirmation letter. Is this definately our unit?
Tara

Yep....ttfn3 is correct. It's Lakes and most likely a top floor. Vistana does reserve the right to change/reassign rooms on the day of check-in though. And yes, Lakes is the second newest section---my favorite. Hope you have a great time Tara :cool1:

So what are the odds of us staying in this section? Should I still make requests?
Tara

The fountains pool has an island with a bunch of palm trees and a waterfall. The waterfall is kind of in a deeper section though so I don't know how it would be for little kids. Its a really nice pool though. The zero depth Lakes pool is really nice, too. It has squirting fountains in the shallow section which kids love. All in all, mostly all of the Vistana pools are nice.

Tara, yes, I'd still fill out the Diamond Lane form......put your request for the Lakes section on there. It's a very nice area of the resort---less hectic than the Cascades area for the most part.
