I have read thru some of the Vistana thread but looking for opinions. Planning a reunion for my sorority a bit last minute as several of us are finally back in the US. Vistana appears the only option for how many units we need (30-40 people) in mid December. I have not stayed there previously but I will volunteer that this is a bit of picky group. I am most concerned with cleanliness and that the furniture/units are up to date and not worn. The fitness center is also of great importance:) We will primarily be visiting the parks and I like the proximity and location.

Let me know your opinions and if you think I should request an area or just for the units to be as close as possible. Thanks.

I would say that Vistana is absolutely deserving to carry the Sheraton brand. If your group would be happy with a Sheraton hotel, they would be happy with Vistana resort. It is a top tier timeshare resort, and there is nothing really shabby about any of it.

You don't indicate how you are booking, but if it's direct through Marriott/Sheraton (i.e, Hotel site), and you ask to have them all together then you will most likely end up in one of the two largest/newest sections (Cascades or Lakes) as that is where Sheraton has the largest number of units they directly control. Nothing wrong with either of those sections. The resort had a full refurbishment that completed in 2013, and since then maintenance has been excellent and refreshes have regularly rolled through each section - most sections are going through their 3rd round now since the full refurb.

I have stayed there several times and it was great.

If you are looking for room perfection, I would say Orlando is the wrong place, except maybe the Four Seasons. Rooms get a workout from the droves of families that visit. If you are looking for great, and not perfect, I would say Vistana is fine.

I have tried Four Seasons but they do not have enough rooms for our dates. I have also tried Swan Complex but again not enough rooms at any of the three. I am most nervous never having been to Vistana and because I really cannot find another option with enough rooms. I may split up and do some of the Disney resorts as proximity and the short time we are there are important.

I appreciate the feedback and yes we are booking with Marriott.

The JW Marriott is a brand new hotel in the Bonnet Creek area that you may consider. On that road is The Wyndham Grand, Hilton Bonnet Creek and the Ritz Carlton.

The Ritz and Hilton share the same amenities.

EDITED: The Waldorf Astoria is in the Bonnet Creek area, not the Ritz Carlton

It's not the Ritz that's at BonnetCreek, it's the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. The Waldorf and the Hilton at BonnetCreek share amenities and are connected via a convention center.

The Ritz is not all that close toDisney property.

The Four Seasons is on Disney property near Fort Wilderness.

You are 100% correct, the Waldorf not the Ritz is in the Bonnet Creek area.

Have you considered the Swan and Dolphin? The location can't be beat, and would work well with a group that large of all adults.
