We just returned from a wonderful 9/20/03 Eastern 7 Night. After
reading other disboarders who are getting ready to go soon
it makes me sooo depressed and jealous. What a trip!! Anyway, my only advice on the Vista Spa is that my DH and I purchased a 7 day pass for $50 a piece to the Rainforest Room in the spa and we only used it twice. Especially on the days that we were on the islands, there was very little time to use it. I would recommend either the single day or 3 day pass. It was nice when we did use it but we just didn't have the time to use it 7 days!

I know what you mean about being jealous of those getting ready to go. It happened to us both times we cruised. We just bit the bullet and made reservations! I just wish I would do it while on board!

I was interested in the rainforest for our next trip and was wondering if I would use it very often. How much is the 3-day pass? Did you find it to be very crowded? Also, did you enjoy it?

Thanks for any info you can send my way!

If I remember right a 3 day was about $30-35 and a single day was $15. Yes we enjoyed it although the days on ship(especially at the end of the week) it was somewhat full of people. It was very quiet in there despite the people. If you like to relax and can enjoy saunas then it's worth it. Hope this helps. Heather

We had the week pass, and used it twice a day. The rainforest is open from 8am to 10pm....it is so relaxing.

Enjoy!

When we bought our week pass to the Rainforest, we were very upset because it was closed twice due to mechanical problems and each day something was closed due to a problem. We did get a partial credit, but that wasn't the point -

Next time it's "check it out first" then get a daily pass for us!

But I made a point to use it everyday. Ususally right after working out in the morning of late afternoon while the early dinner folks were getting dressed.

For first time cruisers who want to do all a day pass may be just the ticket

Since I'm on a mission to relax and recharge (and I don't have a verandah) it is my favorite part of the ship.

Thanks, all that info helps. I sure will check it out first.

If you get a day pass and really like it, will they let you "upgrade" to a longer pass?

Thanks again!

I just read about the spa facilitites and said to myself that I would be too busy to do any of that stuff. I thought, "who would want to sit on big lounge chairs made of tile? sounded uncomfortable."
Well... long story short...my sister bought me a day of the rainforest room and I TOTALLY loved it!!!! No one told me that the chairs were actually heated and that they vibrated! Don't pass up the chance to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax! I thought the rainforest room was even more relaxing than the adult beach at CC!
We are going on a 7 day next year and I will easily be rainforesting it at least 3 days!

Hi Denise - and thanks very much!

I love using the spa at those times also - it is very relaxing at night also. I have a copy of the "time to spa" CD and have it on the sleep mode of my CD player at night - doesn't take much to bring back the spa memories to me!

I can just feel those warm chairs now!!!

What is in the Rainforest room?

Can you use basic spa facilities without charge (steam room, sauna, etc.?)

Can I just say that the BEST tip I've acquired on these boards is the one about the rainforest pass. Last summer, when we cruised I had a one day pass. I used it the day after Cozumel (needless to say I needed some "down" time). WOW! What a great experience. I recommend booking this on sea days at least. It is a NOT TO BE MISSED CRUISE EXPERIENCE!!!

Do you need to make reservations for the Rainforest room with your pass? or is it a drop in only system?

Can anyone tell me if the Surial Bath is worth it? I have heard some horror stories lately about cold water, etc. I really, really, really want to do this, but I don't want to waste money. Any input?:hyper:

The workout room is at the back of the spa and is included in the cost of cruising. The sauna in the locker room is free, everything else in the rainforest room and requires some $.

No reservations are needed for the rainforest room, the times it is open are posted in the navigator. We were just discussing the least crowded times.

As for the Surial, this is the ONLY thing my DH insists we do every cruise.:smooth: :teeth: Four times and not a bad experience yet

When we sailed in May 2003 I had planned to get the week long pass for the Rainforest Room. DH and I took a look around and he was going to get one too. The front desk was busy so we decided we'd sign up later - we never made it back. With everything else going on we never found the time for it. Hopefully with 3 days at sea on our Dec. 2004 cruise we'll have more time to enjoy the spa. Even then I think we'll see about a 3 day pass!

We did the Surial on our 4 night cruise in Sept. Everthing was working great, and we thought it was lots of fun!
We also thought it was a pretty good value considering all the products that are in the room for you to use.
DH decided we HAVE to do it again next time!::MickeyMo

The chairs vibrate????? We just got off the ship and went to the rainforest at least once every day. I didn't know the chairs vibrated. How do you get them to do that????
