Visiting WDW in October....Please share your experiences!

We were there this last October, the 7-16. It was warm the whole time. The water parks were fabulous. One of the water parks was about to close for it's annual refurbishment, so I would check that out before you book. About half way through our trip the weather changed from really warm and humid, to just really warm. My DH hates humidity and was really whiny when we arrived. By the time we left, he was talking DVC.

The parks were more crowded than I expected them to be, but with a little planning and some fastpasses, we really didn't do too much waiting. Also, unlike what I've read on the boards, we found the EMHs to work great.

We skipped the Halloween party, but loved the Food and Wine festival. I sipped Champagne as I wandered through exotic ports of call. It would have been downright romantic if I wasn't with my 3 kids and 10,000 strangers.

Exactly when is Columbus Day in 2006? DD FINALLY gets a whole week off school next year and we are planning a trip Oct. 13-21. And my birthday is the 14th!! How awesome is that??

We were there Oct.6-12 last year, and it was great! The weather was beautiful (right after the 4th hurricane), nice & warm but not very humid. Not very crowded either, from what I remember. And, the Food & Wine Festival was kind of a bonus - we had no idea what it was 'til we got there! We went back to Epcot every day to try all the food. Don't miss it!!

We were there the 2nd week in October this past year. Stayed at ASMu. It was empty during the week but PACKED over weekends!!! We found the parks to be far more crowded than over Halloween weekend the previous year. Attended MNSSHP -- very crowded from 8 pm onwards. Difficult to view even the late parade despite staking out a spot earlier (CM's kept forcing people off the street in front of us!!!) It was as hot as our July/August visit but not as rainy. Waterparks were quite busy even during the week.
