Visiting the water parks for an afternoon break

We are considering staying at ASSp this August. I'm not a big fan of the values but I need two connecting rooms and the moderates are too expensive. One of my least favorite things about the values is the lackluster pools; I was considering getting the water parks and more tickets and going to the water parks for an afternoon break. I would probably have a car. Anyone with any experience/thoughts on that plan?

We went three times in the afternoon in 2013 and are planning to do it again this trip. It worked really well. Blizzard Beach is just down the road from the AS, on the same road.

Just remember, you get afternoon thunderstorms in August. They will shut things down during the storm at the waterparks, and personally, I'd want some shelter. If you can time it before or after the storm, it sounds like a good idea to me.

When you say break, do you mean relaxing? I ask because the water slides are fun and there are a whole lot of steps leading to them. My legs turn to jelly after a while from all the steps. At least at the pace my oldest son kept.

You are so right!:goodvibes
VERY FUN, but quite a workout with the steps!

Remember, too, that Blizzard Beach has a lot of white reflection everywhere, you might want to consider Typhoon Lagoon, which might have some more shade and less glare. :cool2:

I would only do it with a car. The bus service for TL at least , in the afternoon is awful.
