We will be travelling to WDW in Late Nov/Early Dec. and staying at BLT's.

I have created a preliminary schedule, where most days, we visit the parks, then take an afternoon break, and let our DS9 and DD8 swim for an hour or so, before our dinner and nighttime activities.

We usually stay at BCV's, and have most of our dinners at Epcot. Since we are staying at BLT's, I made ADR's for most of our nights at the different local resorts (CR, Poly, GF, WL). That way, we can try different restaurants, AND see the Christmas decorations at the resorts .

I saw pictures of the BLT's pool, and it looks nice, but a little small.

I then thought...... Maybe on a couple of days...
Instead of Getting back from the parks, Swim at BLT Pool or CR Pool, and then go to the other resorts for dinner
Try to do the following.
Getting back from the parks, Go to another resort, Swim at that other resorts Pool, and then go to dinner at that resort.

That way, we not only see the other resorts decorations, but experience their pool too.

My question Is....
Are the other resort pools (Poly, GF, WL), worth the effort to do this?

All thoughts are welcome.

Note: We have enough days, and the kids are a bit older, so I was also thinking of going at least once to BB (weather permitting). We have never been to a water park before, so I thought that might be a great new addition.

Sounds like fun! I would make sure if all the resorts offer pool hopping. I know that a few do not all and one may be BLT? Good luck!

Correct, BLT, BCV (Storm-A-Long Bay) and AKV pools are restricted to guests staying at those resorts.

Pool hopping can also be restricted during busy times.

We've done it and its really a pain in the back end. We spent an afternoon at the Poly pool - and then changed and went to California Grill for dinner. Changing in the Poly lockerroom for a fancy meal was not enjoyable - I really would have liked to have gone back to my own room, taken a shower, blow dried my hair - and I'm not a frou frou kind of girl. Hauling our stuff around also was a bigger pain than I anticipated.

For us it was one of those "nice perks in theory, wouldn't do it again" experiments.

ETA: We do enjoy a waterpark day - we get there when they open, swim until 2 or 3, catch a cab (not a bus) back to the resort, shower, change and have dinner.

I love pool hopping.

The Poly pool is a little small and can get crowded but kids enjoy the "volcano". I agree with the previous poster that said the Poly change room is small..it is!

The change rooms by the GF beach pool are fairly large and quite nice. It's also a lovely pool. My boys, 10 and 15, enjoyed the slide.

If you are not a "frou frou" (love that!!) kind of girl and don't mind getting ready for dinner in a change room - go for it!

I love the pool hopping DVC perk.:goodvibes

I like the Poly pool also--nice and relaxing looking out over the Seven Seas lagoon and MK

Sounds like a great plan to me-esp with all the XMAS decorations at the resorts. :santa:

Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time due to capacity limitations. Due to the high occupancy that is expected, Disney Vacation Club Members and any Guests staying with them may not pool hop during the following dates*:

* July 1-5, 2009
* September 4-7, 2009
* November 23-29-, 2009
* December 12, 2009 - January 3, 2010

*Other restricted dates may be added based on projected pool capacity.

From the members site the black out dates thought you might want to know since you said you are going end of November.

If you are staying at BLT you can use the CR pool and BLT pool. If you are not staying at BLT you can not use the BLT pool. You need your room key to get into the pool area and to get back into the resort rooms area from the pool.
