Visiting from Other resorts

First of all, why is that embarrassing? I can think of a lot more embarrassing things.

Disney is about fun and family and this scenario is not hurting anyone! From the OP's comments, it doesn't sound like they would even swim if the pool was overcrowded.

To the OP: I certainly hope you don't have in your signature when you're going and what day you might invite your family over. One of these hypersensitive rule nazis will probably tattle to Disney security. (I hated busybodies like them in school - I can't figure out why so many people worry about everyone else but themselves.) I hope you have a good time with your family.

Just out of curiosity - do the room keys at the different resorts look different? Recently we stayed at POP and CSR and the keys looked exactly the same. How would a CM know which resort I was staying at? I don't want to pool hop but I am just wondering. Thanks.

There's a numeric code printed on the keycard that indicates the resort.

I try to stay out of these sticky matters but this one I had to write something. When I stay at a resort I am paying for all the amenities that come with it and I would not appreciate people using those amenities that aren't paying for them. I do not go to disney and pay disney prices to subsidize other peoples fun. Sorry I know it may sound mean but the pools get crowded enough as it is and it wouldn't be fair to others that are staying there and paying to use the pool.

I think meal and a day at the water park sounds like great fun.

yikes...I wouldnt refer to fellow Disers as nazis...I know what you meant..but some others may be offended.

not sure why I'm even bothering but here goes yet another attempt at trying to explan this sticky situation.

When paying $329 a night you are certainly paying for something you would not expect to recieve if you were paying $82 a night.

This is my families first ever visit to an on-site Disney resort. We have been saving our money $1 at a time quite literally some weeks. We have foregone movies, dinners out, day trips to the beach, well, you get the idea. We are ubber excited about picking the most deluxe of deluxes in Disney guest eyes it would seem.

shortly after making our decision to go deluxe, I began eating up everything I could find on these boards (while eating spaghetti for dinner:laughing: ), it was highly enlightening. Apparently there are a whole host of resort guest that think it is just fine to take a quick monorail ride back to the POLY on a hot day of park touring to swim and relax before going back to the parks.:sad2: apparently their own resort is to far away and would take to much time to get to? uumm, that's why it's cheaper!

The POLY seems to get hit up the worst but GF and Contemp also.

now aside from money, there is the simple occupancy level. It does get crowded. Chairs are at a premium (so even though other don't say it, pools and pool chairs are both coveted resources at the pool.

Now all that said, Disney has the right to override any rule they want at anytime, it is their hotel. But as their guest I also have the right to expect what I paid for.

think of it this way, if I was staying at a local hotel in a metroplex of many hotels, would I/you/anyone feel free to go enjoy any one of those hotels continental breakfast options or feel I/they should eat at their own hotel?

As a former large inground pool owner I can promise you, the more guest at our pool , the more money it cost us to maintain it. It's not a free ride just because the water is already there!

Perhaps the moderator of this board could close this thread and save us all from ourselves! :rotfl:

ps. feel free to swim as you wish, just please don't visit the POLY during 9/18-25, I hear occupancy levels are at an all time high and my family of 6 will be swimming everyday!!:rotfl2:
