Visiting for one night in Dec

Visiting family in central Fl and we would like to go to the Mickeys Christmas party one night and stay on site. Any recommendations? Ways to save money? I know Dec is expensive but just wondering if there are alternatives. Have never stayed at the Polynesian and the monorail makes it looks awesome. I would also like to know if its possible to visit the other resort hotels to see the decorations..Thanks

If you've never stayed at the Poly and have the budget for it - I would say do it. (We've stayed there and LOVE IT!) This way, you can ride the monorail to Magic for the party, but not only that - you could ride to to the Grand Floridian to see their HUGE tree and gingerbread house -- Even make a pit stop at the Contemporary too! You could also take the boat from Magic to Fort Wilderness Lodge to see their beautiful tree as well!

If I personally were in the area, I would definitely go and stay one night. The MVMCP is fun. We are going in 2 weeks! Can't wait!

While saving money and the Poly don't really go together in the same sentence, a night at the poly would be a wonderful Christmas treat. We like the WL for Christmas. Just has that homey feel and smell to it. Christmas is more expensive, but early December should not be too bad. Depending on your dates however, at this point in time, it might be take what you can get on site and might even be hard to get the party tickets for a night you want. If money is an issue, a value resort can be your cheapest option. Try to check in as early as you can and even though your room may not be ready, you can leave you luggage and spend the day resort hopping to see decorations or some time at DTD. I would eat your main meal early and plan to be in line to get into the party by 3:15 or so. Check out the last possible moment and still have the rest of the day to explore WDW outside of the parks!!
