Is it better to fly into LAX or Orange County airport if staying in one of the Disneyland hotels? I realize there is more of a selection of flights at LAX, but Orange County is more convenient.

All thoughts appreciated....

We live in Central NJ and fly out of EWR and we like SNA John Wayne Orange County. We rent a car from National Emerald Aisle, and we just drive to our Disneyland hotel. The drive is easy if you fly during non-peak times. We are arriving at 12 noon on a Wednesday for our Feb trip, and we are looking forward to the trip. We are flying on Continental non-stop.

I'd have to say, I love flying SNA more than LAX. We live in Orange County and sometimes it's hard to determine if the price difference is worth it. John Wayne is usually higher and a smaller selection of flights. If it's just me flying, I'll do LAX, but if the entire family is flying, I'll spend the extra and do John Wayne for the convenience....

Hope it helps...

I think it really depends on where you're coming from. I'd love to fly into SNA, but it seems like every flight from my area that goes to SNA stops/connects in LAX first. I figure if I'm going to have to land at LAX and get off the plane, and then wait for a connecting flight, I might as well just get my bags and leave!

We've been to Disneyland twice now and each time we flew into LAX because it was cheper for the four of us to just land there, pick up a car and drive. This year however it is actually $50 cheaper per person to fly into John Wayne Airport, so that's where we're going.

I agree that SNA is more convenient, but for me it comes down to price. I always check flights into SNA, LAX, ONT (Ontario - 40 min drive to DL) and LGB (Long Beach - 20 min drive and Jet Blue flies here really cheap).

I will also be flying out of Newark NJ for our trip in August. I found that LAX has a more and a better selection of flights. I have family and friends in the LA area and they say fly into Orange Cnty Airport if possible. Unfortunatly for me the times I am looking to fly (Sunday morning/early afternoon arrival, Saturday morning departure), LAX is a better option. If you are flexible, go into SNA.
As for price, at least for me, I noticed that SNA is only about $10 more roundtrip.
