visiting Disney in January?

We just returned from Disney in September and I'm already planning our next trip! I'm thinking about January 2007, because the crowds will be less and the weather cooler.

For those of you that have gone in January, do you also feel that this is a great time to visit Disney?

We love january!! Crowds?? What crowds?? Avoid the firs week as some school still have time off and avoid MLK week-end and you will be great. Temps have been great for us though it can be cold. DS has swam but it is cold getting out. We are going back Jan. 20-27 2007

We have gone to WDW 3 times in January..we always went the last week..it was great!!! Low crowds and nice and cool in the mornings(somtimes pretty cold..lol) but beautiful all day, then nice and cool at night!

This was our window decor last Month when we were there for MNSSHP... so I will just loose the halloween bag for january!

We went in January this year and LOVED it!!!! We went from the 5th-13th and the crowds were low (midweek VERY low), the temps ranged from daytime highs in the 40s to the 70s. The kids swam at least 2, maybe 3 days.

My absolute FAVORITE thing about going in January was NOT having to return to the resort mid-day for nap/rest from the crowds. My kids were 3 and 5 and we hit a park at opening, took a nice, easy pace and stayed until between 4 and 6pm. We then returned to our resort (pop) for food court dinner and had the kids in bed asleep by 8pm. We had ZERO meltdowns and everyone handled 7 1/2 days in the parks without exhaustion. GREAT time to go!!!

My concer going during "off" season is the hours. Once when we went we were floored to see the parks close at 6! We are normally summer people and we like to fit it all in so we are used to 1 AM close times. I think we would get a little bored but that is just commando us.

Wow! Sounds like the Pop is the place to be. We will be having our first stay at the Pop 1/24 - 1/30. Perhaps we'll meet. We're doing the pirate party on the 26th.
We fell in love with January last year. We went right before MLK wknd and thought it was the best time to go. I hope the end of the month will be just as good.

We were there in January a few years ago. The crowds were low and we had beautiful weather the whole week. However, the week before us and the week after us was rather miserable. It was cold and rainy. I've been to WDW when it was cold and rainy, and I've been there when it was extremely hot. I used to say I'd take the cold over the hot any day, but when it's cold PLUS rainy then you are not only wet, but you're freezing AND wet. When it's hot, you can duck into a building and get some A/C. Or, you can go back to the resort for an afternoon swim. But if it's hot AND crowded, that's the worst time.

LOL...I guess I didn't really answer your question.

I would recommend going in Jan as long as you don't have a baby with you. Trying to keep an infant in a stroller dry and warm is hard.

BTW, we were just there in Sept and I was thinking about going again in Jan...lol. But I think we're going to visit the Dells instead.

O my goodness i love going in either december or January. The weather last time i went was a little chilly, but i'm used to it i'm from Minnesota! Just make sure you pack some warm clothes to you never know!

We will be @ Pop Jan. 12-22 and I can't wait!!! This will be the 3rd yr for us going in Jan. I love the cold weather because we never get it and I get to wear all those disney sweatshirts and fleeces. Like everyone has mentioned they're are no lines so you get to see everything in one day. My only complaint this yr is splash mtn. will be in rehab the whole time we are there and it's a favorite!!

We love January at WDW. No/very little crowds, not too hot and just wonderful

We swim- its warm in the pool its just cold getting out
