Will. be staying at a universal Orlando resort and will only be visiting US and IOA. Since I will have a rental car at some point, I wanted to be able to see some of the Disney hotels and possibly see the Disney electrical water pageant. Without dining reservations, will I be allowed to park at a Disney hotel? Any suggestions or tips of how I can go about parking at the hotel for a few hours in the evening? Or how to visit the hotels? I thought about traveling from Disney springs on a bus, but figured it would be a long bus ride or worse no return trips at night from the hotel to Disney springs

If you are only renting a car for those visits, don’t. Just use uber, Lyft or a taxi. It will make things simpler. :)

Did you ask over on the Disney boards? You will definately get accurate responses there.

Parking at Disney resorts is very hit or miss. Especially at the ones where you could watch the electrical water pageant. You could easily park at the ticket and transportation center and walk to the Polynesian, or monorail around to see the Contemporary or Grand Floridian. But you'll have to pay to park there. The only reliable free parking is at Disney Springs.

I don't know when you're going, but my understanding is that the Electrical Water Pageant is not running now and won't be for the foreseeable future. Also, the Poly is really boarded up and the beach and bar where you'd be able to watch the Pageant are not open. Finally, I think you do have to pay to park, by parking at the Transportation and Ticket Center and then taking a monorail to the Poly, Contemporary or Grand Floridian.

Personally, I'd save that jaunt for when you're actually staying at Disney, which would make it far easier. And perhaps the Electrical Water Pageant might be back by then.
