Visiting Cat - WWYD???

Perhaps she WAS somebody's cat. But, it sounds like she doesn't have a good home right now. And, not one near your neighborhood.
It doesn't seem that she has a collar, or that anyone knows who she might belong to.
I would try to do something to find the kitty a good home.

I love the idea of putting your own collar and phone on the kitty and see what happens.

We have had a few stray puppies chose us over the years... And also couple of neighbors who have ended up with pets that they did not really want to take care of.
It is HARD!!!!

The last stray little puppy we had was so cute and would go on walks with me without even a leash.
I called her Scruffies.
We took her to our mostly no-kill shelter with the idea that a man from a pet organization would pick her up there and take her to an adoption event that next weekend. No way did DH want to take in a second pet/animal.

Now that our big Lab passed away a year ago, I still wish I had Scruffies!!!

I went to Petsmart and got a carrier and a couple cans of food just in case she came back (and a toy for my dog). DS and I dragged our dryer up out of the basement to put at the curb (new one delivered over the weekend) and he left for school. No sooner did he leave and just as I was about to come in she came right up onto the porch like she was home lol. I sat down and she came right up on my lap rubbing her head on my arm. I got the towel in the carrier and put the food on a plate and she scarfed it down. If she is around in the morning I will be taking her for a body scan to see if we can find her home. Right now, she isn't on the porch but I'm sure she will be back.

Thank you all for your input, I will be sure to keep you posted. I really want to see this sweet girl end up in a happy home before the weather turns.

I'd keep her but I am not allergic. Check for a tag and maybe take to vet to look for microchip. Post flier on street signs and facebook or whatnot. Then welcome her as new memeber of family, if no luck finding owners.

It's entirely possible that her "owners" moved and didn't want to take her along so just left her there, leaving the poor thing to wander around helpless and looking for a new home. It happens all the time and it's sad. In fact, I have a Siamese cat whom I suspect had that very thing happen to him. Why people think cats are disposable I have no idea. There could be a better explanation but that's just the cynic in me, I guess. Maybe she never did have an owner in the first place...Siamese cats are naturally friendly and love being around people.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time and effort into helping her out. Hoping for a positive outcome for this sweet kitty.

I think she's an indoor cat. She probably got out last fall and found her way to you. It happened again this week and she had enough of her bearings to make her way to you, but not back home. :( Not every neighbor would know who has an indoor cat and who doesn't.

I hope you find a solution soon. If not, Zyrtec works great for allergies. :teeth:

Thank you for the kind words, my sister is joking with me telling me I'm turning into the crazy cat lady and asked me when my glasses come in lol

I take it every night lol, it works wonders.

I am really curious - why would u not call your local shelter to see if anyone has reported a missing Siamese cat? Pets do get lost and wander and Facebook/asking neighbors don't always cover a wide enough radius.

When we lost our dog, I pinned my hopes on our local shelter (we reported him within an hour or so). I figured if someone found him, surely the easiest thing to do would be to call the shelter. And honestly, that would be the FIRST place I would think of.

Unfortunately for me, the people who found him didn't call the shelter. I ended up plastering the surrounding area with posters and after SIX DAYS, they came across a poster and decided to call. Still blows my mind - especially since they were further than I expected and while I plastered the area pretty well, they could still have easily missed the poster (especially if they weren't walking).

I've heard people say they worry about kill shelters. But calling to ask if anyone reported a missing pet does not mean you will be forced to surrender the pet if the owner cannot be found.

Anyway, back to topic. Very kind of u to care for that very sweet kitty and I hope u find her owners. if u never find the owners, it sounds like u may become a cat lady yet!

That's a great question, I did call the non-emergency number for our shelter and left a message. A lot of places were closed for Election day. We will see what today brings :)

WOW, what a gorgeous cat!!!
Doesn't seem to be the usual mixed, stray.

Please take the initiative to make sure she has, or will have, a great home!!!

She's beautiful!!!! I love siamese!! She was definitely someone's pet since siamese are a rare and expensive breed. Not a mix or a stray wild cat. That one was definitely cared for.

Does your town have a Facebook group? I would post a picture there.

I wish I could take her! I would love a siamese!
