Just came back from VB! My family and I stayed there from May 6-9 in a 1BR with an ocean view on the second floor. It was my first visit in a 1BR at VB, and I was impressed at how much larger it seemed than a 1BR at BWV. the table in the living room was also much larger than the one in the 1BR units at BWV. My in-laws stayed in a studio adjoining our unit.
We ate almost every meal by room service, and in general they were all pretty good. Our last night I cooked a Risotto, a speciality of mine, and it turned out very well.
There were a good amount of small brown bunnies running around the property, and my 2 year old son was delighted with them.
It was very windy and the ocean was loudly crashing outside our window all night. It was marvelously refreshing. However, the waves were so high that you couldn't take a wave runner or sailboat out. However, walking in the surf was fun, although in the afteroon it got cloudly and somewhat chilly, especially if you were wet.
the pool area was delightful, as they were not many people at the pool. I think it was a relatively slow week at the resort. My 2 year old enjoyed the kiddie pool with the pirate ship and the adjacent playground.
The room, number 1227, was in good shape, although the bedroom could have used another lamp for more light at night. One thing the kitchen could use though is a garbage disposal. They have a double sink, but no disposal. It made no sense to me.
All in all we had just a delightful time, and the resort, as usual, was beautiful. Can't wait until next time to go back, although I think we will check out HH first.
