We just had our first ever trip to disneyland last month, we spend 4 days in the park and loved every minute of it! My toddlers ask when we are going back every day and im in the same boat I loved it so much that I cant wait to go back. We have decided that we want to make annual trip, once every spring.

My question is to anyone who visits once a year, does it get old? Do you get tired of it? Or do you always love it just the same. I just dont want us to get there next year and be like man we did everything so its not as exciting and magical as it was the first trip?

We have annual passes and have gone on average once a month since my ds4.5 turned 3. We still feel the magic every time! We love it. Each visit brings new things usually, too. I doubt you'll regret it!

We are heading back for our fourth year in a row this August, and while no trip is every the same, that's the beauty of it, no trip is ever the same. Our rule is we have to try at least 2 things we haven't done in a previous trip which even with 5 days in park each year is still easy to do. There are even areas I know we've never explored mostly because we always know there will be a next time. To me it kinda takes some of the stress off of having to do it all at once.

We went every spring when my kids were younger, on the kids spring break. It was always a highlight of the year, something the whole family looked forward to. We have some awesome family memories. :goodvibes

We've never done the every year thing, we're an every few years family. But, out last trip was exactly a year after our previous trip and it was indeed a little different (and we'd been doing DL every couple years for a couple decades at that point). The biggest difference was we slowed down and relaxed more, I didn't even know that was possible at Disneyland. Previously everyone in our family had been so worried about missing things, not getting to do stuff, but having just been there the year before took a lot of pressure off. It actually made for a much nicer trip!

It never gets old! We were just there in late March and I immediately wanted to go back. :)

I went back in 2012 for the first time as an adult, and about 10 years since my previous visit, and I absolutely fell in love with DLR. In fact, I'll be making my fourth consecutive trip fall 2015 because of how much I fell in love with the place!

To me it doesn't get old, because there is always something new to see based on what time of year I go, and there is almost always a newly reimagined ride, show, or attraction each visit. Not to mention that even spending 3-4 days in the park each trip, you still don't manage to see/do all there is! For example, I've somehow managed to never ride Alice in all three of my trips since 2012 and it's first to do on my list for my upcoming trip!

For me and my travel companions, we always try to make it a priority to do something we've never done before each trip as a way to keep things new and exciting, whether that be a ride we missed or something completely different like exploring the Grand Californian.

Thanks guys, I figured we would always find new things because i know there are things we missed this time but my girls are only 2 & 3 so it makes it so we CANT do alot of things. I just dont want to run out of toddler things to do and feel like we are doing the exact same thing for a few year til they are old. Im sure the magic will be there no matter what, i mean i could ride pirates over and over and probably never get board as well as watch fantasmic a million times

As a child my family visited once a year on average. It never got old for us kids! My girls are now 9 and 7.5 and we've gone at least once or twice a year since they were born. We've been passholders since 2013 and go more like 4-6 times a year now. We still feel the magic every single day we're at the parks and even when we're home planning our trips. We try to find something we've never done before (ride, experience, treat, meal) each trip and that by itself is fun and keeps things feeling new.

I will add that I'm sure not everyone feels this way. My husband is perfectly content letting us go do our Disney thing and joining once a year (if we're lucky!). He works out of town much of the year so this works for us - it has become my girls and my special thing we do together. :)

That's generally what we do- go yearly. Last year we actually went twice, but one was just a day trip to DL only. Once a year is pretty perfect for us, I think. It gives lots of time to build up anticipation and let's face it, it's not exactly cheap any which way you do it to travel almost anywhere anymore.

I always say that if I lived within two hours' driving distance that I'd have an AP, but I would hate for DLR to become more "ordinary" to me if I visited too much.

As other have said, there are so many things to do, it's so difficult to everything done in one trip. Knowing you will be back may be a big relief; if something is down, yes it will disappoint but hopefully it would be back up next time. And even beyond rides, I love eating in new restaurants and taking the time to check out shops I might have passed over previously. I love the fact that I don't always have to hurry now.

When my kids were younger our trips were usually only three days. Of course the parks were less busy then, and there was a lot less to do in DCA. Now it's a minimum of 4 days, since the kids are grown, and we all ride everything.

We've been going once a year for 11 years now and it never gets old. Each trip brings a new experience. I love coming onto the message boards to find out what's new and different foods to try. Last trip I finally had a Monte Cristo for the first time! Still wonder why it took me so long. Also as the kids get older their interests change in what they want to experience. When it was just DD we spent a lot of time meeting characters, now she is past that stage and DS has no interest. We now spend time doing pin trading, both kids really enjoy that. Also as they get older there are more rides they want to try that either they weren't tall enough for or just seemed too scary at the time.

There is so much to experience other than just rides that I don't see how I could ever get tired of Disneyland!!!

It never gets old. I've been almost every year for the last 28 years, some years once a month. If anything, it gets better.

As my kids age, it seems were able to do more and more things. After a 2013 and 2014 trip, we now have APs. We went back in Feb and we'll be there in June, and our normal November trip is still on the agenda. It's hard to say that it's getting old when it so new compared to all of our WDW trips. On our trip in Feb, we were able to get some rides in that we hadn't before, like Silly Symph Swings and Goofy's Sky School (ouch). But we all love to ride our favorites over and over. I suppose we go there more than other people, but those folks drive nicer cars than me - they can have'em if I'm getting to spend car money on DL. It's amazing that we've not done everything there, but we're getting closer. That keeps us going back.

I actually get to Disney (land or world) about every 18 months. We did not plan to visit that often when we started taking the kids when DD turned 5 and DS was 2.5 but I am a big fan, and when we plan trips around birthdays and visiting to see Halloween decor, etc that's what it ended up being. I even get a solo trip in to WDW every couple of years thanks to work trips to Orlando that I add on to. Each time we go I think, "I can wait a while for my next trip, maybe we will go somewhere else next time." Then, even if we do go somewhere else, I find myself looking for reasons to visit Orlando for work or cajoling my husband for another trip. He is not as "into it" as I am but even he gets giddy with excitement as the trips approach. It is not just the wonders of Disneyland that we love, it is the family time too. Our family of 4 really treasures the time together, from the roadtrips to and from the Bay Area, early alarms to get us to early entry, to mom's geeky trivia as we make our way through the parks.

The next trip is a special reward for my 12 yo son who has had a very growing and successful 6th grade year. The gap is only 8 months from our last trip and I am super excited to enjoy the parks just the two of us. I realized this morning that I am spending more time planning this trip than I am the one I will be taking 3 weeks after it to Hawaii! (The "somewhere else trip that I leapfrogged with another Disneyland visit :) ) I need to get on the stick for that one. We have a few nights at the Aulani and I need to book some activities and reservations there too!

Sounds exactly like me! I would so much rather take a vacation then put a down payment on a bigger house or car when the ones we have work perfectly fine for family. Memories and fun with my kids is far more important then 2 extra bathrooms I will just complain about having to clean later lol

I can't imagine it getting old, once a year would be perfect for my family, we've been more like once every 3 years. I recommend different times of the year ( Halloween was our favorite so far ), and we always try to add a different side trip, last year was our first time to Knott's.

We go every few years except special things. Like this year we want to see the 60th so even though last year we went for the 5k race in NOV. We are going this dec. It's never got old. In fact I wish they still had 6 and 7 day tickets
