It seems tthat we will be travelling to the embassy to require visa,s. My husband has a conviction from 7 yrs ago and was fined and myself had points on licence for speeding.
We went to USA last year on the waiver i really didn,t no i was doing wrong and now am worried we will be deported if i dont get a visa.
I would like to ask some Q please

1 when applying to scotland yard for details of convictions is this all you need to take to the embassy to prove what you have done wrong in the past?

2 what Happens if things you know have happened 20yr ago when in teens, dont show up at scotland yard, does that meen its ok to travel on waiver. If not how would you find proof of an arrest or caution?

3 What are the people like at embassy that interview you do thay put you through more suffering?

4 Has any body been turned down for a visa and what were the reasons?

You won't need a visa for minor traffic infringements like speeding, though obviously your husband may need one for his previous conviction. Sorry, I can't help with your questions, though I do know of people who have been turned down. I'm sure if you're honest you'll probably be ok.

Best of luck...

Ill try and answer as I had to renew my visa last year because of a 24 year old offence--

1 when applying to scotland yard for details of convictions is this all you need to take to the embassy to prove what you have done wrong in the past?---That and local district letter-you have to go through them anyway for scotland yard

2 what Happens if things you know have happened 20yr ago when in teens, dont show up at scotland yard, does that meen its ok to travel on waiver. If not how would you find proof of an arrest or caution? --- I had to go to local court record office They keep everything even though my record was now lapsed and clean

3 What are the people like at embassy that interview you do thay put you through more suffering?--- No they are Very polite more so than English people,Sure they ask you stuff but if your going to do it be honest and you should be fine,You wont need one for speeding, what they look for is Theft,Terrorism,GBH etc

4 Has any body been turned down for a visa and what were the reasons? -- Not sure about this one!

If you need any advice and I can give it PM Me-I know I went through a load of worry-For Nothing!!
