Visa Waiver Programme Q

I was just hoping someone can give me some advice on when to go online & fill in the Travel Authorisation forms .
We re travelling to Orlando in Early May, is this something we need to fill in closer to the departure date or can we do so now?

For anyone whos filled in these forms are they very straight forward & easy to fill out?
Do they speed the process up of going through US Customs? Last time we went through customs it was a very sloooow process

I just filled in mine and my kid's forms literally 2 seconds ago. It's a painless excercise The form is very straightforward and it gives you the travel authorisation instantly.

You can do it today, and it will remain valid until 2011

flew to orlando from bristol via new york last saturday, 7th feb. Had filled in ESTA forms online previously - quite straightforward and printed everything off - but still had to fill in green forms on the plane - apparently the ESTA visa waiver programme is still a trial at the moment. Having a wonderful time in very sunny Florida - off on the Disney Magic cruise tomorrow!
