Hi ksd,

You will get the waiver forms either on board the plane to fill in during the flight, or sometimes (as with Virgin) with your boarding documents so you can take your time and fill them in before you get on the plane while waiting in the departure lounge.

You will get two types of forms to fill in. One has to be filled in each by each person, and the other has to be filled in by one member of each family unit. Both are simple to follow and complete.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Just out of curiosity, what sort of things do they ask you on this form and what do they do with it ?
Is it just where your from, or do they want to know other stuff ?
If so does anyone agree that its a bit of a waste of time and paper

:jester: 83 to go :jester:

Off the top of my head, the Visa Waiver Form asks...

Name, sex, DOB, nationality, country of residence, passport number, flight no, address where you are staying in the US, then on the back there is a whole host of boxes you have to tick if you are a convict, wanted for terrorism, war crimes, etc. which I must admit seems nuts...I mean, if you are...as if you are going to answer YES

The 2nd form is the customs form. Name, etc, plus asking if you are bringing anything in with you to declare or not.

A bit of a pain, but still....much better than having to apply for a visa to enter the country like you used to!

thanks for that info Penny

i've read so many times how the visa form must be perfectly completed to aid smooth entry to the USA

Yes - they do have to be perfect but you will get plenty of advice on the plane :)

You can get the forms from any airline desk that flies to USA at the airport.

Somewhere either Janice or I have a spare, and we were going to scan it in for the boards - I'll check with Janice but Penny has given all the required elements I think.

That would be a great help then i could get all the details written down before we go and just refer to them when needed.

when you say" each family unit" fills in a form, does that mean if you're not actually related (like Mark & I) we need to do separate ones??

You need to do a Visa waiver for every single person travelling, and a Customs form per family unit with the same surname. Simon and I, although travelling together as a unit, aren't married - so we have to fill out a customs form each. We also have to go thru immigration separately (unless you have a nice customs officer)

just thought of another (probably dumb) question......

we are staying in a villa but i don't know the zip code - do you need to include the zip code on the form?

thanks

neil

:D

No, don't worry if you don't have the zip code, just put as much info as you can (ie. Boardwalk, WDW, Orlando, Florida would be enough)
