Hi folks

I would really appreciate some advice. This isn't strictly a Florida Trip Planning question as it happened when leaving New York, but as the same thing might apply to a Floridian stay I thought I'd post it here.

You know when you enter the US you get the bottom part of your I-94 (or whatever it's called, the green Immigration form) stapled into your passport?

I'm sure whenever we have left the US before they have removed that from my passport (presumably so their records reflect we have vacated and don't show up as over staying illegally), but we have got home and discovered the bottom parts are still stapled in mine and DH's passports.

Now I am sure I must need to let someone know that they were not taken back but that we have left the US, but having trawled through the US Homeland Security website I am none the wiser as to what I should do!

I must have to send these off somewhere, but I have no idea where.

I hope someone can help as although a trip stateside is not on the cards at the moment, I would prefer to sort this out sooner rather than later.

Thanks!

Karen

Claire - many thanks! You're a star.

Would you believe I looked and looked for that on the website

Thanks again

It certainly is advisable to send the sections back. My DM travels to Canada a lot and then over into Michagan. The last time we went to Florida she still had the green forms stapled in her passport as she hadn't had them removed when she had returned over the border from her previous Canada/USA trip.
She had a lot of awkward questions asked and it took a lot longer to clear immigration and was generally made to feel that she had committed some crime. So the best thing to do is send them back

Karen, looks as though your questions have been answered but I just wanted to say Hi and how nice it is to see you. We were just talking about you last week, wondering where you'd got to :) Hope you are keeping well.

I dont think its a problem - this happened to us when. we had a day trip to the US Virgin Islands.

I left them in the passport and the next year ar Orlando the immigration buy just looked at them then tore them out and threw them in the bin. :goodvibes

Funny you should say that - the same thing happened to us about four years ago !!

Same thing happened with us. Ours were left in from our NY trip, but on our trip to Orlando the next year, the immigration man just ripped them out and threw them in the bin, no questions asked. :)

It happened to us a few years ago too, we just threw them away (Ooops)

 Hey Karen, it's lovely to have you back

Mandy :)

Wasn't there a similar thread about this a week or so ago? I couldn't find it, but it seems this happens fairly frequently, and I'm sure you will get it sorted quickly!

It is lovely to see you back - you have been missed :flower3:
