HI

Just a quick question for any British cruisers.

Have you had any problems with Visas or Visa Waivers etc

We have been told this week by Disney via our Travel agent that we require a double entry visa !! (we leave on Friday !!)

Has anyone had problems boarding a Disney cruise with only a standard Visa waiver (filled in on plane form UK)

I have checked with the Bahamas High commision and they do not require a Visa.

I have checked with the American embassy and they dont think we require a Visa.

But our TA says Disney will not let us on board without this double entry Visa (to allow us back into Port Canaveral after cruise)

So what I am asking is, have we just got a Cast member that doesnt know the rules or are we going to be left in the port ??

I am sure someone from the UK can answer this question and put my wife out of her misery. We have spent a good few days on International phone call to no avail.

Thanks in adbance for any help

I'm not British to answer your question but since I was an International traveler with a visa I can tell you that for me it worked as you leave the US and reenter as a new trip. US inmigration services stamped my passport as I was leaving and gave me a new I-94 form (the white one you fill in the plane). I don't think you are going to have a problem. Hope you can find the right anwer soon and have a wonderful cruise!

Our Travel agent was told by Disney that Disney dont participate in the Visa waiver programme !! (whatever that means)

Basically I just need a british cruiser to tell me if they needed any extra visas etc other than the waiver you fill in on the plane coming over from the uk!!

Thanks again

P.s Thanks Gdmanzo for you input and words of encouragement

Hey Ian,

I am trying to track down a UK moderator who has cruised. I hope to find one soon.

Hi Ian

Robin pointed me in the direction of your query - I have posted it onto our UK Trip Planning board to see if we can get you some help. I haven't personally been on a Cruise - but I know some of our regulars have - hopefully they will post here fairly soon.

Take care and have a wonderful time.

It would be great if you would come back on the UK board too and tell us all about your trip :)

Don't know if this will be of much help, but went on a day cruise to Bahamas in 1990 using the visa waiver and had no problems. I don't think we had to refill our forms. Mind you this was not a Disney cruise.

Hi I'm from London.
We cruised the Magic Oct 2000 and will again this Oct.

All we needed was our normal wisa waiver, which stays in your passport and allows you back into the USA with having to apply again (I,ve also used the waiver on a Flights to Jamaica and back in without reapplying).

There were some local Bahams entry cards to fill in as well, these arrived in our cruise pack and were very simple.

Be aware they take your passport off you at cruise check in, the next time you see it is a 6am the morning at your ports of call ( not all of them, they stick a note in your room, you HAVE to attend even if not going ashore), then again on arrival back in the USA.

Dosen't mention the lovely 6am mornings in the brouchure :)

Thanks all for your help.

My Wifes hair has started to grow again!!!

Anyone know if UK citizens still have to pick up passports at 6am? Seems a bit strange and not something to look forward to.

Yes, this is still a requirement. Sorry.

Thanks Dave.
I am going to email DCL and ask if there is anyway around the 6am start. I am really not happy about it We have to rise early at home and were hoping for a lie in.
