Visa Perks?

My husband's cousin just started working for Disneyland recently and he sent me some information on the Welcome to Disney tour. The wording said that it was 25 per person regular and 20 with AAA or Disney Visa.

When I called today to book the woman I spoke to had no clue what I was talking about and she put me on hold to ask her supervisor and they said they don't give discounts. :confused3

Thanks for the information. I called back and the castmember I got this time was very helpful. Apparantly when you book in person, the discounted price comes up but they are having a problem when people book over the phone. I am going to get the difference credited.

Thanks again for your help! I seriously do not know what I would do without the DIS!

The stroller rentals make it all worth it for me. But I've never taken advantage of any other perks. I'm going to check out the website again.

I think it took about a 2 weeks for me to get my card. I was expecting an email saying that I was approved and the card was on it's way, but that didn't happen. The card just showed up in the mail last week.

Question, I applied for one maybe two weeks ago and just got a letter in the mail asking for me to confirm my identity (proof of current address). That's cool, no problem, sent them what they asked for, but did anyone else get asked for this? Think this is a good/bad sign?

I do not recall having to do that. I could be wrong though, I have just had my card for a few years now. I so hope you took advantage of the great bonus they are offering and used a referral!!

When we were there last week, we utilized the discount for the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" Tour. We also got our picture taken with Pluto in DCA. We both looked horrid in that picture, so later in the week, we made our way through Mickey's house in Toontown and got our picture taken with him. We got that one as our free Character picture.

Just received my chase disney visa card. just want to clarify do i need to have a balace on the card to get all the perks of it. What about the reward program, anything extra with that?:dance3:

for stuff like the free strollers you only need a current card to get the strollers. I'm not sure about the dining discounts, but I believe you have to charge the meal to the card to get the 10% off. The rewards you get awarded 1 reward point for each dollar. 1 reward point will be worth $.01 on your disney rewards card that you can redeem in the parks and downtown disney. They are supposed to send you the reward card once you collect 2000 reward points.

I just thought I would chime in to mention that you don't have to wait until you reach 2000 points to get the rewards card. You can get on online as soon as you have any rewards points on your account. They will send you the card (looks like a gift card, kind of) and then you can transfer points to it as they arrive on your account. I only had 38 points that I put on my card before our recent trip but that was still fun to spend -- free stuff is free stuff.:rotfl:

You do have to have a minimum of 20 rewards points in order to transfer to your rewards card for the first time. After that you can transfer any amount.

I also believe that you can only have a max of 750 rewards points accumulated without using them as well.

You actually accumulate 1 rewards point for every $100 spent. I'm sorry but you got some wrong information. As stated earlier, you can start redeeming your rewards points as soon as you earn 20. That's only $2000.

How do you get the backpack? Do you actually have to book your vacation through Disney VISA, do they send it to you or do you have to show your card somewhere at the resort?

We got the backpack as part of the Disney VISA Resort Package. We booked through a travel agent who booked through Disney Travel using our Disney VISA as payment. When our park tickets, etc. came, we received a coupon for the backpack which was then redeemed at the Disney Travel Center in Downtown Disney, near the Compass Book Store. It is a nice, one strap backpack in royal blue and black.

Anytime you reload your card, you have to load at least 10 rewards.

Chase got rid of that 750 max, so now you can earn as many rewards in a year as you want. They will still expire after sitting for 5 years, though.

One other point, you can only have two rewards cards with your account. When one expires, you can get another. So, don't throw yours away because you spent your rewards $s. You can reload on the same card. We already had two cards that weren't empty and they would not issue me a new one. Luckily, I found the old ones in my Disney stuff from previous trips. FYI (this was as of our last trip - Oct. '07).

You're right. I forgot about the 10 point minimum, I usually load mine right before we go on a Disney trip so it's usually more than 10.

Also, I never ever get that high, but it's good to know that they did away with the maximum limit. :thumbsup2

Mine expires in 12/08 and I will reuse it on my third Disney trip in October.
