Is there anywhere to get VISA gift cards or travel cards without paying alot of fees? I'd like to get a VISA gift card to load with some money so I don't have to carry lots of cash around the park. And traveler's checks are too much of a pain. I was thinking it would be easiest to use a VISA gift card to use like a VISA card for meals etc. I know I can charge to the room but I was just thinking of this as another option.

Thanks-

Our local mall is owned by Simon and they did away with the regular mall gift certificates and went to the Visa gift cards. The only fee is the original $1.50 when you buy it and it can be refilled any time. You can use them anywhere you can use a Visa. They have a website, and it looks like you can order them there.

I've bought these at a Simon Mall too. We too up a collection from the class and did this as a teacher gift for DSs preschool teacher last year so she could pick what she wanted rather than getting 10 coffee mugs. ;) I've also purchased them to use when we've travelled before. If you have a mall near you they load the card and hand it to you right then, no waiting for it to ship. It just says "Simon Mall customer" or something like that for the name but I had no trouble using it as long as the back was signed.

Wow, $1.50 isn't bad. I'll go check it out.

Have you looked into the Visa BuXX card (or is that what you were talking about?) I've been thinking about using it when we go on vacation next year but have not looked into it very much.

Anybody know about it? Fee's to use???

Our AAA has the Visa cards that can be preloaded. Check with your local AAA office.

Yes, but they are very expensive, or at least I think so. It's $4.95 for the card, and then I think another $4.95 to load it again. It just seemed like it was alot of fees.

When I looked on the Simon site, it said that the cards couldn't be reloaded. And it have a $6.95 shipping charge. But I think I can get them at a mall about 30 minutes away from me.

Any one else have any other ideas?
