I was listening to the radio here today- the local radio station is giving away a trip to WDW, with AAA Travel....they were speaking about the specials going on now at WDW...

AAA Travel lady says the following ( I might miss a word but you'll get the idea)..

" Right now WDW is offering people paying with a VISA, kids stay and play for free....All Packages booked with a VISA offer the kids free UPH's...plus they stay for free in your hotel room....IN ADDITION to this, if you pay with a DISNEY VISA, you also will receive 100 DD....."

So I think- no way I haven't heard about this on the DIS..it's always been DISNEY VISA ...not just any old visa...so I call this local AAA Travel office, and question this....the reply was...

"what you heard was CORRECT...VISA partnered with DISNEY for this offer, they sweetened the deal for those with DISNEY VISA by giving them the Disney Dollars, however ANYONE with ANY VISA card can get the great deal with the kids being free"

I know a lot of people don't like to get new credit cards, of maybe there "Delta Flymiles Visa" offers better perks than the Disney etc... but I thought for those of you without a Disney Visa would like to know that ANY visa works...you will only lose the 100 disney dollars.

Hi Brandy!

I saw a commercial on TV last weekend for just REGULAR Visa and it was advertising the Kids Play Free at WDW. I told DH I was upset because I thought that the offer was a Disney Visa exclusive. I did not know about the $100 DD for booking with the Disney Visa.

I thought at first they were wrong.. however tonight I was on disneyworld.com and checked rates etc.. using the "visa" offer...it stated something like this....

"book now with your visa card, and your kids stay and play for free....book now with your disney visa card, and you receive an additional bonus of 100 disney dollars"..

I wonder just how many people went and opened up Disney Visa accounts for the deal...when they already had Visa's..

With our Visa- and 0% interest....we'll save the 100 we would lose by not getting disney dollars...

What is a "Delta Flymiles Visa"??? Did you mean the Delta Skymiles American Express???

ANYONE with ANY VISA card can get the great deal with the kids being free
:scratchin:

Yup, why would I be puzzled? I guess with the Disney Visa you still could milk them for the rewards:duck:

I have not 1 but 2 different Visa cards(and neither has Mickey on it:(
When I checked the Kids Play free offer through a Visa link, I was confused about the admission media offered. The "Dream Maker Package" is stated as including admission to all 4 parks, and does not mention Disneyquest or the water parks, leading me to believe these won't be included. I have never gone to WDW with a package, so I was wondering if Disney offered packages with anything other than the Ultimate park hopper. I have never heard of packages that included just regular park-hoppers(like a 4 day or 5-day). We will nedd 2 rooms for our party, and half of us already has AP's, so if we wanted to take advantage of this offer for the other room, we would need UPH's. Can anyone help clarify?

Geez- I guess you were smarter than me, because until this week I had not heard it was valid with ANY visa...

As for the "delta skymiles visa" it was just as a comparison...never meant that they HAD a visa,,,,don't know either way...

Nah... Just trying to take lemons and make lemonade. It was news to me too, but not too surprising considering the way Disney pampers its guests... NOT!

So if you already have the Dis Visa, just squeeze the rewards. If not, get other cards that give you better rewards.

I called about one of these packages, and the tickets are definitely UPHs. I had even put the package on a "courtesy hold" and have already received the confirmation. "Ultimate Park Hopper" was listed right on the bottom of the sheet.....3 times (one for each member of our party). Two UPH's were listed as "adult" and the 3rd was listed as "FREE."

Hmmm, I took the Disney VISA deal and was told I couldn't do a 'courtesy hold". I had to give them a $200 deposit (on my card) to "hold" my reservation. Of course, it is refundable within 45 days of travel, but still, the guy said I couldn't hold it without a deposit.

I figure if we were going to Disney anyway, I may as well charge it on the Disney VISA, get my $100 in disney dollars, and earn disney points too. We are paying it all off when the bill comes in anyway, so why not?

We just got the Disney Visa card just to get this package. In addition, we got the first 6 months with 0% APR. We usually pay our credit cards off each month, but with this deal, it gives us a little more time to pay off our disney vacation.:Pinkbounc It is now the only card we use and we try to use it for every little thing since we keep building up disney dollar points:hyper:

We did save a bunch of money. I priced it every way I could and couldn't find a way to do it cheaper with 2 kids. We can't wait!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

:earsboy: :earsgirl:

I got a newsletter today in the mail for Disney Visa Cardholders. It had several coupons, similiar to what Disney Club used to have. So even if you don't want to use it, it maybe a good idea to have it for offers.

I had heard when the first Kids Stay/Play free deal came out that it would be offered to Disney Visa holders first and then in a couple of weeks opened up to any Visa cardholders.

Kids always stay free at WDW resorts so really the only thing you are getting for free is the children's park hoppers.

Don't quote me, but if I remember it has to be booked by 1/04/04 and stay before 6/30/04

Brandy

Do I have this right? Contact any on-site Disney hotel (I know of 8 or 9). Book with Visa and an Ultimate Park Hopper pass is included for children under 9 only?

Thank you....thank you ...thank you. Will save ~$400 if works & I've never been. Very new at this!:hyper:

www.disneyworld.com

and "book" your vacation right there....go to the "reservations" link at the top right hand corner of that main page.

Down near the lower right hand corner- theres the link for either the regular visa or the disney visa...

From there, just follow the links-

FYI- I checked April- which is one of the busiest times of the year, and the 3 hotels I checked- 1 value, 1 moderate, and 1 "deluxe" all had the package available.

Good luck, and I'm glad I could help!

Maybe your trip dates are close enough that they couldn't do the courtesy hold....otherwise, I'm not sure why you weren't allowed to hold it.

I called and put a courtesy hold on a VISA package for a trip in March. I did not have to give them my VISA card # at all. Was told I had 14 days to pay the $200 deposit. This was for a regular VISA package, not a Disney VISA package.
