Virtual Valentine's Day 5k and 10k - If interested please post

I would like to do this but could only do a 5K at this point.

I am on week 3 of the couch to 5K and even though things are going good...I think 10K is a bit much for me right now. I might still be a bit embarrassed to post my 5K time but it will be okay because I am just proud of myself for going out and running.

It doesn't matter if you want to do the 5k or the 10k - also the option is always open to change your mind the day of (that's the good thing about this "virtual" thing!!!) Like we did with the Virtual Turkey Trot 10K we can post our finish times and any pictures you would like to take along the way.

It doesn't matter if you have to do the miles on a treadmill or outside or whatever. It also does NOT matter what your finish time is or how you have to get it done (my Turkey Trot 10k was done on a treadmill and was a VERY slow pace) That's the good thing about our WISH team.

Also on the first post I put a clippie for the 2 distances - please give me feedback. Again thanks for the response so far.
 
I would love to do this...might give me that extra push to get out there that day. It will probably be the 10k for me that day.

I just want to post and say this is what I have loved about being a part of the WISH community this past month...nothing but encouragement and positive thoughts! I have been inspired to change eating habits and am losing weight. I have been inspired to exercise and have exercised EVERY day since January 2nd. I thought I hated running and with the encouragement I find here, I started and am actually at the point where I look forward to going outside and getting it done. The past 3 days I have run in freezing drizzle just because I now enjoy this time and the feeling I get from doing the workout. Thanks for saying again that it doesn't matter what the speed is...you guys are all the support I need to keep on going!

Thanks for all your hard work on organizing this. I really like the clippies that you have as well!

congrats on your exercise streak Jen! That's fabulous!

Love the clippies Tricia! Will the medals look like the clippies?

I'm in for at least the 10K. I have 8 on my training schedule for that weekend, but it's a cutback week, so 6.2 would be good too.

Just a thought for those of us that miss the Minnie race...maybe a virtual 15K in May?

Welcome to the WISH Team! I'm going to be the one this time to say, there is Never such a thing as "only" here with WISH Team. You are doing it!

I was also going to go after the being embarrassed comment, but I realized that you are proud of yourself. WISH Team is proud of you too! I am proud of all of us for doing whatever it is we can do. Don't worry about timing/distance. It all counts!

I'll be doing the 10k

Mel, great idea about a 15k Minnie susbtitute in May. The fun thing of this is we can all participate and location is not ever an issue.
 
I'm in as well. I will probably choose the distance on race day because I am going to run a non-virtual 5K on the 13th and don't know if I'll be up for 10K after that. Depends how hard I run the 5K on Saturday, I think!
 
I am in for one of them. I might do a 5K that day, so that would be it. But if I do not then I might do a 10K on my own. But either way, I will do something.
 
I'm in for 10. That's my six mile weekend. Perfect.
