It was tough to look at though because I can't help but think that could have been built instead of DCA.

Good point Jeff!!! As a matter of fact. . as I recall a lot of that was supposed to go into DCA, but the Japanese company that is in partership with Disney offered to pick up the tab for all the construction/design costs, so Eisner scrapped the original plans for DCA and shifted them to Tokyo. . smart business deal perhaps, but if definitely sucks for those of us who were looking forward to seeing some new, cutting edge attractions here in the states. .
