Heading to wdw end of the week. Can anyone inform me what would happen if we when we got a virtual queue for guardians, and the return time is predicted to be later in the day, if we then change our park reservation to another park for the AM? For instance we change to MK, then hop to Epcot after 2. Will the virtual queue still be there (noted that return time could be missed)?

Not sure, but here's what I would do...

Book the virtual queue. Take a screen shot of the boarding group/return time. If return time is 4pm or later, change your park reservation to desired park. If VQ gets dropped, visit a blue umbrella to reinstate it.

I say 4pm because in my experience the return time you see when you book it is never the return time. Our return times always crept closer. For example, if we booked at 7am and got BG 150 with an approximate return time of 11am, the BG could be called at 9:30am. You just never know. If you aren't paying attention to your phone you could miss your boarding group.

Eligibility for boarding groups at 7 AM requires a park reservation for Epcot. I was under the impression that if you got a boarding group with the 7 AM drop and then changed your park reservation that the boarding group went away, since you no longer met the requirement for a boarding group obtained with the 7 AM drop.

7AM VQ reservations are hard to get. Not sure we've had any actual experiences shared of people who have done what you're considering doing. If you follow through and cancel, please let us know if the system cancelled your VQ or, if it kept it even though you cancelled your park reservation.

Good point.

You can always try! I’ve not yet read anybody’s results after attempting this. If you have a backup to do GotG another day it could be worth a shot.

To add to this, you may miss the time the BG is called, but you will never really miss the BG itself because you can board any time after it is called. (This is not necessarily the case for paid LL.)
