Our family has a VMK fan, who is very interested to know about anything she can do IRL (which I'm told means "In Real Life") that relates to the game.

I've heard vague notions of in-park quests, IRL souveniers with counterparts in the game, and a few other nifty things. Anyone have details? I appear to be resistant to video game infection, so this is perhaps the one thing I *haven't* managed to overplan for our trip. :rotfl2:

(Good gracious, it's in just over three weeks!)

There is a whole VMK setup at the movie theatre in mk. There are trivia cards that you pick up and find the answers to while you are at the park and then turn them in for a special set of vmk cards. You can also go on a vmk tour (I think you have to complete the trivia cards first). These are only at certain times of the day and there was only one the day we went so check when you get there. The tour guide takes you areound the park, asks more trivia questions and hands out more game cards.

There are also certain items that you can buy in the park that will get you a game card. We got one for buying Golden Mickey Ears and one for buying a ride photo on Buzz Lightyear. DH's aunt got one for buying a pin at a certain store but I can't remember which one. They can probably tell you at the movie theatre.

There is a VMK forum on this board that has lots more info on this too.

HTH!

My DH and I enjoy VMK too. We did the quests and took the tour last year but I've heard that the tour has been discontinued? :confused3 I hope not since it was a free tour and was very informative! Most definitely check out VMK central in the Main Street Cinema though!

We just did the scavenger hunts last week, and my kids ended up with a ton of cards with items they can use in the game. The only trouble is that they can't get the VMK to work at home. It freezes when they try to go anywhere or go on a ride. We have AOL and they are logging in to AOL as my husband so the kid blocks don't come up. Any ideas on what they need to do? Anyway, if you are entering MK the VMK place is on the right. It looks like a movie theatre on Main Street. There are brochures for quests in Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Adventureland. The answers are scratch-off, so you don't even have to carry a pen. If you are having trouble with a question, CM's are more than happy to help. It was a fun way to spend our last day in the MK. :)

That is because it used to be the old cinema on Main Street, playing clips from some of Disney's animated shorts. :thumbsup2
