Hey everybody
You will soon be able to experience IOA whenever you want to, from the comfort of your own home.
I am in the process of writing a 3D viewer for the game, Rollercoaster Tycoon. A while back, somebody made an amazing recreation of my favorite park, Islands of Adventure. Of course, it is limited to the objects and rules of RCT. However it is still an amazing park.
The best part is, that I am including the option to synchronize with the official IOA CD. So, when you step in front of Poseidon's Fury, you hear "The Lost City" track playing in the background. When you are near the Incredible Hulk, you hear "Banner's Science Park"
There are some issues with the program, though. First of all, it currently requires quite a bit of horsepower to run. I get anywhere from 15-30FPS on my 1.3ghz Athlon running Win2K.
Not all of the rides are entirely visible, either. The coasters are missing loops and inversions. There are a couple segments missing from Popeye and Bluto.
Finally, you can't ride any of the rides just yet.
This program is a work in progress that has grown more powerful than I ever imagined, and there's no stop to it any time soon.
I don't have any recent screenshots prepared just yet, but I'll post information when that is ready. I guarantee that you will be floored when you see this in action.
