Non-Disney Online Games Virtual Family Kingdom Thread

When I first read about VFK they said the game would always be free to play. So, no I have no intention to pay to play.

And from what they say in TOS it WILL always be free to play. but just like Disney's Toon Town and Pirates, you dont have to pay unless you want to enter special areas or have access to special features. The basics of the game WILL always be free.

Personally if VFK stayed a glorified chat room where I could sit and visit with my old pals, I am A-OK with that...it is more than Disney did for us.
There are zillions of chat rooms, glorified or not, where we can do the same thing and probably more safely.

In all fairness, Disney may be trying to address the communication issue. I don't know if this was in response to VMK ending, but I received an email last week from Disney Guest Services about the chat features on their web site. There are three different levels of moderated chat.

In my opinion, having little avatars attached to our text is nothing special, since it doesn't have anything to do with our former VMK appearance. I find it incredibly sad that we are so desperate to "see" each other that we (and I'm including myself here) are willing to join a site that does not by any stretch come close to the quality that VMK provided. I doubt that VFK would have been the place of choice for most of us attempting to reconnect, if they had not advertised themselves the way they did to the various forums.

Oh my, i didn't mean to stero-type ! i'm so sorry. I didn't notice how bad that sounds until now. i just mean when parent's aren't watching, that's what some do? you know ? Haha sorry to stero-type .

I have a private computer too, so i think i sterotyped myself + sorry for the typo ? i'm not a english teacher..

Sorry cardinal

Hahaha, don't think for a second about it. I myself am the king of saying things that I will later deeply, deeply, deeply regret on these forums. :rotfl:

yea i dont think i will pay to play UNLESS there is some AMAZING benefit which i highly doubt... i think that it isnt normal to have ppl beta test a game, then you just pull the rug out from under them and say, "OK! thank you for playing this whole beta time! if you want these certain features fork over $10 a month and we will be happy to give them to you!" LOL..

I'm pretty sure they did; they had their beta testers divided up testing the two different service levels.

Edit: not that it matters too much, they're welcome to try to get people to pay for that game (snicker).
