We're headed to Va beach in July. We've been there before but just wondering if anyone has suggestions about where to eat (nothing fishy) or where to visit. We've been to the aquarium before but they were doing renovations. Any rainy day suggestions?

Also, we're driving down from CT and considering stopping halfway or maybe a little farther down so the 2nd days drive isn't so long. Any suggestions for where to stop that the kids could swim/play?

TIA!

Nothing fishy??? Are you kidding? It's all seafood! No, I'm sure you'll find something! Actually on the next street from the strip there was a really good Irish pub. Yummy corned beef. I cant' remember the name, but it was the only Irish palce I saw. To bad you don't like crab legs though....

Tracy- Thanks. Actually I'm a vegetarian and my girls don't like fish- but we love the beach and the waves!!!

I think we'll stop around Dover, DE the first night. Any suggestions for a nice, reasonably priced place to stay with a pool for the kids?

Thanks!!

Well you'll love the waves thats for sure! I can't tell you how many times I almost lost the top to my bathing suit!:scared::scared1: And there's always pizza, right? Actually there were a few pasta places you might like right on the main strip. At night they have street entertainment. It's free and we went every night. Music, magic and look for a guy named Hilby. He's a German guy with a unicycle. He's hysterical! Have fun!

Hi Tracy-

Last time we were went there was a huge storm out at sea and the waves were huge! I love riding them. I put a life jacket on my DD6 (4 then) and hung onto the straps so she could ride the waves with me. She'd say "Here comes another biggie mama!" It was so much fun! My DD9 (7 then) rode the breakers on her boogie board but didn't want to go out in the big waves.

I remember the street entertainment. We saw a a really neat puppet show last time we were there. I can't wait to go- praying for good weather!
