Virgin vs. First Choice

No Disney will not add the dining plan to my booking because I did not book the package through them. Oh well, you live and learn. I suppose it was swings and roundabouts anyway over whether it was an actual saving because i don't know if I would eat 3 courses every time, do I want a snack every day etc.

Glad to have helped anyone who needed this info and pixiedust to all,

Claire

We've always flown Virgin in the past, however this year we changed to BA Holidays instead. BA charge £22 for the Disney Dining plan. This would have cost us £210 extra with Virgin for myself, DW and DD over the 2 weeks. Even with Virgin's 10% frequent flyer discount the BA Holiday worked out marginally cheaper, and we have a FREE one way upgrade worth £450 for the three of us. :jumping1: :jumping1:

We had picked our holiday from the Virgin catalogue but before we booked happened to pop into Thomas Cook. Not only did they pricematch the accomodation (and book on Virgin flights - lots of freebies for kids and good entertainment) but we got the theme park tickets cheaper and they upgraded us to top car hire package with full insurance at no extra charge.

However, having said that now I know more next time (!) I will book components separately - but I will still stick with Virgin flights. yes, there are cheaper flights but with 2 kids the entertainment is a consideration. And lets face it, the return flight is interminable (seems far more than 8 hours) - next time we are going to try to upgrade for the return flight.
