Virgin Upper Class - Clubhouse Question

As a surprise, I've booked Upper Class tickets for our flight from Heathrow T3 in July. Can anyone tell me anything about the Clubhouse.

I'm a little shy and easily intimidated, and want to ask a very silly question. I think that everything is FREE in the club house? Is this right. So, we'll arrive at breakfast time - the food and coffee and juice is all FREE? Is this right? Are the staff pretentious and snobby? How does it work - is it counter service?

Weill I be intimidated by the whoel experience?

Also, on the flight, the stuff i've read suggests that drinks and food service etc. on the flight for Upper Class is when you want. I'f find it very hard to ask for anything, will the staff still do a food service at set times anyway?

Thanks for your help!

Yup, its all free! Like helping yourself in a pub, lol.

Even the video games are free (my dad always manages to get the car ones stuck in some un-reversible spot)

You tell the flight attendents when you want you food and then they'll bring it. Same with if you want a massage etc.

Virgin staff are all really nice and friendly!

We've always found the staff to be extremely friendly and welcoming. No-one will be judging you, so please just relax and enjoy yourselves.

When you first arrive, someone will come and take a food and drinks order. There's also a buffet from which you help yourselves. After that, it very much depends on the staff in question and any given day. We've had times when they've been all over us, bringing drinks and constantly attentive, and others when we've had to ask, so you might find you'll need to push through your fear boundary. Nothing will be too much trouble, though.

On the flight itself, whilst they do have the "food on demand" offering, they will ask if you want lunch at the usual time (i.e. after the drinks and duty free services). Again, there's no need to be afraid to ask for anything.

The Clubhouse at Heathrow is a truly exceptional facility, and it would be such a shame if you were worrying too much to enjoy it.

I quite understand your nervousness to ask for things (I am much the same) but do bear in mind that these will probably be some of the most expensive, free services, you have ever been offered, so you are more than entitled to them.

The Clubhouse is wonderful and as you are flying UC can pre book a treatment each :) Also pack your swim wear as if delayed could use the jacuzzi and showers :teeth:

My trip report from 2006 to the West Coast shows some pictures of the CH, plus we will be there on June 13th before flying to DC.

Claire ;)
