Hi I'm from the uk and I was wondering has anyone booked their disney wedding through Virgin. I have decided to do this rather than go through the hassle and added cost of booking direct through disney and then having to book flights, transfers, insurance and everything somewhere else. I have ordered silk flowers to take with me because virgin dont supply the bridesmaids bouquets and the buttonholes for the men and I have priced the holiday and overall I am pleased with my decision. However, I am worried because I have heard that virgin don't have very good service when it comes to the weddings side of things, Has anyone had any experience with them and can you give me some tips please? I really want everything to run smoothly and I'm worried that it will go wrong! Please tell me its all wedding nerves! :headache:

Thanks in advance for any replys!

id seriously advise you to go direct with disney. i booked through virgin and found their wedding department useless. you could book the holiday and flights/insurance etc with virgin holidays and just book the wedding itself direct with disney, but virgin weddings are (in my experience) the worst company ive had to deal with in years. if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

I have booked my package through Virgin but I'm a travel agent so I've been in touch with them regularly. I received my wedding pack promptly and have an email address for the co ordinator. When I have emailed in the past I've received quick responses. If you find they are a little slow just insist to speak to someone and get contact details of the people you speak to.

we booked thru Virgin last Sept for this Dec and have recently found out that someone else had already requested the same date, time and location as us so we wouldn't be getting our choice - but they neglected to tell us this at the time and still took our deposit! I'm just glad I queried something with them and found this out in time - I'm now going direct to Disney and let them pick one of us out of the hat and I at least know it's done by Disney's rules.
We kept our flights and accomodation with Virgin tho' as we got a good deal (frequent Virgin club)

We went direct with Disney and im glad i did so. I started off with Virgin and i had so many issues with them.

You can book the holiday with Virgin and book the wedding direct with Disney.

We booked our 2005 FTW with Virgin and didn't really have too much difficulty to be honest. I have read on here that people do have trouble though.

I have mentioned on this forum in the past that you should really just think of Virgin as an agent for Disney, so they will book the date and deal with the first-stage paperwork, but most of the details can and should be passed direct to Disney.
We found at the time that the cost of the Intimate package was actually lower with Virgin rather than booking direct. We were fortunate that it didnt take long before our Event Manager contacted us directly. All the extras, add-ons and specific details were then dealt with directly by the fabulous Jennifer O'Leary at Disney (who is now Manager of the Cruise Weddings and absolutely fantastic).

We had the photo and video options available through Virgin, but made sure that they were excluded, instead opting to use Randy and Stan (STVS) - probably one of the best moves throughout the whole process.

So Virgin really didn't seem to do a great deal during the planning, but they were actually excellent when we arrived in Orlando. There was a rep to talk us through our plans at the airport and the actual Virgin Weddings planners based in Orlando phoned us at the hotel to arrange a meeting prior to the wedding. (we ironically poloitely declined as we were totally on top of our planss having spent a lot of time in contact with Jennifer).

So, the best advice I can offer is to book with Virgin if they offer a good price and then try to establish contact with your actual Event Manager. If there is no cost saving, go direct. At the end of the day, all the extras that you book (Carriage, Characters, Champagne etc) are all paid direct to Disney anyway. Just remember, Virgin Weddings are just agents for the FTW and probably do little more than just supply the information to Disney regarding the couple's plans....Disney will take care of the rest.

We was going to book our wedding through virgin, but we was messed about, so we booked the holiday through them because it was cheaper we too have the FVC membership but we booked the wedding direct with disney, it was the best thing we did, we havent had any problems with disney so far.
