The only thing with the Magical Express is that it can take hours to get your suitcases, Ive read quite a few reports of people saying that they had to wait 4-6+ hours to get their stuff which would be ok if you arrived in the morning and were off to the parks but when you arrive at night you may just want to unpack and go to bed.
We're not using the Magical Express, and that's one reason, the other is I can't be bothered! We're on the later flight as it is, so we want our stuff with us so we can unpack straight away, have something to eat and sleep, seeing as by the time we arrive, even with no delays, we will have been up for nearly 24hrs straight. I usually get a few hours on the plane, but my mum and sister don't.
The other thing is, the very first trip we had, we went on a coach that went around the houses, then the second time, we had a small van that took us and few other families to a select few hotels. Then last year was just the best! We arrived and directed to our transport, which turned out to be a very, very posh car (bordering on limo-style!) that was just for us and took us directly to our hotel! Yay. Okay, so staying on-site I'm sure there will be more going in our direction this time, but we can live in hope.
We also prefer the return transfer from DTD with Mears. It was a bit inconvient last year because it can take over an hour to get to a park from DTD by the time you've waited for a bus. And then you have to allow time back. Plus, last time I left my purse in the locker at DTD, although thought I'd lost it at AK (another story!). But this year, DTD pick-up will suit our last day plans just perfecting - Typhoon Lagoon to wear off last bits of energy, pig out at Planet Hollywood, then transfer to the airport and fully stuffed and completely exhausted, sleep all the way to the UK, rather than dosing for 20/30mins at a time. I lost count how many time I watched the same bits of Curious George!!!!
