I've got a couple of questions regarding the Virgin Reps in Orlando, if anyone could oblige!

First, we've booked a transfer with a limo company (beginning with 'Q' :teeth: ) from the airport to our hotel (the Caribbean Beach Resort) so we've cancelled the virgin transfers, and I was wondering, do we need to collect anything from the reps at the airport?

Secondly, we're not planning on going to the welcome meeting, as it seems to just be for the reps to sell excursions, but could anyone tell me where the reps hang out the rest of the time in case we need to speak to one? Do they visit the Caribbean Beach?

Thanks once again for all the assistance - what did people use to do before the internet was around

The reps will visit the hotel probably one evening a week, if you ask at reception they will be able to tell you when. I cant think of anything you would need to pick up off of them.

Thanks!

That sounds OK - I don't think we would need to speak to one, but it's nice to know there will be one available now and again - in case we do.

I hope ypu are luckier than we were. Last sept we never saw one virgin rep in our hotel even though they were supposed to be there, The worst thing was we had problems with hurricaine Jean. We had to find out ourselves that the airport was closing at 5 pm on the sat we were due to fly at 6.30pm and our flight had been bought forward by 2 hrs. Other tour companies pushed leaflets through the doors of their clients, virgin did nothing.

That sounds OK - I'm sure we won't need to see one, but at least we should be able to find one if we need to.

 - Hopefully we won't have any problems like that!!!

There is usually a rep hanging round at baggage claim if you need to ask them anything.

There is also the Virgin visitors centre on IDrive somewhere as well if you need something.

Just wanted to ask about park passes bought through virgin. Did they come with your plane tickets or do you have to go to the welcome meeting to get them? i don't want to waste time at a meeting if I don't have to,

many thanks,
Claire

I'm sure Claire that virgin send out vouchers that you exchange with their rep at the meeting - another way to get you to attend I suppose! I have heard of peole just turning up at the meeting and asking for their tickets then going but you'll probably have to waste time getting to the meeting, it probably won't be held somewhere convenient for you.

If you're staying at a Disney resort, aren't the hotel room door keys the park passes? I'm sure I read that somewhere.

If that's the case, at least you won't have to collect them from the meeting :teeth:

Sorry I thought they'd changed that now!

I hope not :sad2: - I really don't want to have to go to the meeting if I don't have to.

Has anyone else reading this been with Virgin recently who can confirm one way or the other?

I know this is a few years back, but in '99 staying at the Swan we had all our tickets waiting for us at reception on arrival, evan the Church St station night freebie tickets.
Went to the welcome meeting at amc in DTD - was about 30mins. Great film of Richard ;)
Last year got all the tickets b4 we went as it's cheaper that way.

Exactly what I did this year even tho I'm staying on site and with travelling with Virgin, the cost didn't include park passes and it was cheaper to get them seperately

It's our first time - so that's we booked everything through Virgin this time!

I'm sure once we've got more experience, we'll book things ourselves :)

Don't be put off by people like me booking things seperately its just trial and error, Virgin are a great company to travel with and you'll have a fantastic time, how many of you are going? and when do you go? I'm there from 12 Nov for 2 weeks, can't wait - have been counting from 235 days so now its only 37 and we're like the kids on the advert, can't sleep too excited etc!

There's seven of us going, and we fly out on 20th October for 13 nights :cool1:

And I'm counting the days too :hourglass - I've even got a calendar on my PC at work & I'm crossing off the days!

I'm sure everything will be fine, but I just find myself thinking / worrying about the most stupid little things.

If you'be booked any tickets etc. you'll need to go to teh welcome meeting. We'd booked Cirque tickets and never made the meeting, thinking we'd just be able to pick them up at their office and spent most of one morning chasing around all the disney hotels looking for them... in the end rang and complained and theybrought them round.

We've only booked our disney passes and passes for universal and seaworld with them - do they count as tickets? or will we get them when we get our plane tickets?

I'm sorry - not too sure. I think you might have too. If you're staying at Disney - Disney will prob give you your tickets (it was your room key too) but the univerisal tickets etc., I think they'll send you a voucher to exchange for the tickets. It depends on if you exchange your voucher at UNiversal or from Virgin reps..... see what it says on the voucher - or give V a ring!!! If you've booked Cirque de Soleil tickets, you'll def have to go to welcome meeting. SOrry.

We haven't booked any Cirque de Soleil tickets, so hopefully we'll be able to get the seaworld and universal passes at the parks.

Do we have to collect anything from them at the airport? Or can we just hop in the van and start our holidays? :cool1: :Pinkbounc :earsboy:
