That is an excellent price:D If anyone here already has their econmy seats flight booked they could upgrade!

Thanks for the tip.

I checked on Virgin Holidays website and they are showing the revised price of £125.00 each way for PE seating.

I then rang Virgin and asked for PE seating to be added to our ressie. He come back to me and told me they have seats availlable for Sep 27 for £495 per person return ! I explained that on their website it is showing £250 per person return and straight away (without going to check) he said " oh, i do apoligise, my mistake".

I wonder if Virgin will tell people who have already paid the full PE price, of the revised price ?

How long is this offer available?! Going next October, wonder if they'll be any bargains!

For October '03 PE seating is £ 195.00 pp each way or £390.00 pp return. I would wait and see if the price comes down, as you can add PE to a ressie at any time as long as you have the economy seats booked and Virgin have PE availablity.

That is great news for you Paul, but makes me gutted about the amount I have paid for my PE seats for October:(

Hi all,

I am booked for flights in November with Virgin but I booked them through Expedia, would I still be able to book PE seats through Virgin?

Also can you travel PE with an infant or is it frowned upon?

Regards

Sean.

Ring Virgin and ask: you can definitely upgrade from any economy ticket to PE - whether you will get that great price, I don't know. Quote the offer mentioned above and see how you get on.

Yes infants are allowed in PE, they are also allowed in Upper Class: if you pay for a seat (on if the kid is under 2, I believe that s/he can sit on your lap - although I wouldn't fancy that for 8/9 hours, especially on the overnight return!) you can do what you like.

I have seen a toddler (2 or 3) in Upper Class. He was very well behaved, shame that his parents weren't also: they were too busy neglecting there toddler whilst joining the "mile high" club in the UC lavatory

The only concern about toddlers in PE is that you try to keep them well behaved (no seat kicking, bot too much screaming or tantrum throughing) and entertained. Well behaved toddler are a joy to have around. Badly behaved toddlers are a nightmare (even in economy class).

Can anyone tell me where on Virgin's site you are finding these upgrade offers because I've looked everywhere & still can't find anything,
Thanks,
Carol:confused:

Hi,

I found the upgrade price (to PE) on the Virgin holidays website by entering the dates for my holiday and selecting the PE upgrade, on the final page before giving your credit card details it gives the prices for PE seating, each way.

You can also check the upgrade price (to PE) by entering your travel dates into virgins flydrive system on the website. This will also give you a breakdown of price of economy seating and PE upgrade.

Kazzie - Sorry to hear you have the full price, i wouldn't be happy with this at all. I would give Virgin customer services a call and tell them you want them to amend your booking to the new revised price for PE seating.

Paul,

I've booked my flights through Funway holidays, had I booked through Virgin I definitely would have called up and complained.
Recently when the more reasonably priced PE seat details were in the latest brochure some DISers had booked early and paid more.I'm pretty sure Virgin reduced the price of their flights accordingly as a gesture of goodwill:D

No luck at all Guys. All the dates around when we go show Premium Economy as the only available seats so I guess they don't need to discount. Might give them a ring nearer the time just in case.
Carol:(

Just called regarding our booking and the megadeals only go up to 11 december 2002 so no joy for us.

We booked our flights through Virgin Travelstore, a cheap deal £1,100 for two flights and fully paid car hire - does anyone know whether I would be able to ring Virgin Atlantic to upgrade, or do I have to go through VT. Don't know whether this makes it better, or worse, but we've already paid the balance.

Give Virgin a call first and see what they say: if I was you, I would try your TA too (in case they say different thing). Can't do any harm to ask.

Me thinks that Virgin are doing very well out of this thread!

crux,

We booked with Virgin Travelstore last December and phoned Virgin Atlantic for upgrade prices. They told us we would need to speak with the agents we'd booked with.

Virgin certainly are doing well, upgraded me and Kim earlier on today, £250 return each.

Hope its worth it!

SimonC ,

PE is definitley worth it at this price. We flew PE in March and it makes your journeyl so much easier. I am now really looking forward to the flight. Its not just bigger seats it all the little perks that go with it that make it a great package.
ie dedicated check in, first on plane after Upper, more personal attention from cabin crew, first off plane, first to customs baggage, car hire etc.

The only problem with PE is going back to economy !

Our excuse for upgrading is not only the good deal on the price, but also because my wife willl be 20 weeks pregnant when we fly.

BTW The 10% frequent Virgin discount applies to the PE seating upgrade aswell. So it will work out at £450.00.

hey virgin are getting there moneys worth but lets look on the bright side
were all getting a bit of luxury for a bargain price
pitty they couldnt di it more often
