We really fancy premium economy for next Summer but with two adults and two teenagers we just can't afford it! Did think about asking at check in how much it would be to upgrade. Realise there may be no room at that point but anyone else tried this and is it any cheaper? :goodvibes

It doesnt usually work out to be cheaper at the airport.

IMHO I dont think it is really worth spending the money on or less you have the money to spend. I dont think we will do it again

Apart from the extra leg room and wider aisle I cant see that the extra cost is justified for the price. When we go next we will keep our money in our pockets until we get to WDW and spend it there and rough it in economy:rotfl2:

Unless you get offered an exceptionally good deal, you are probably looking at about £200 per person to upgrade to PE (one way) at the airport.

Normally you could get a lot better deal paying for PE in the first place (sometimes, in sales, you can get PE for about £550 per person for the return).

You and your partner go in PE and stick the teenagers in economy!! ;)

I had chance of free upper class seat next August (Only 1 available using miles) I told DW I would be prepared to suffer 8 hours up there, she did not even say no, just laughed at me:rotfl2:

I am very happy with economy so have never asked price to upgrade but AA last month had a sign on the desk PE available £100 each. Don'tthink Virgin do the same offer.

The chances of getting 4 in PE at the airport during the summer is next to nothing I expect.

Saying that I don't rate the Orlando PE as good value for money, unless there is a specific PE sale only.
I think I had 75H going out in September which is the exit seat, wasn't too impressed other than that.

We asked at the airport how much it was to upgrade to PE on our flight and we were quoted £219 each, needless to say we didn't take them.
Sometimes Virgin sometimes offer upgrades for £50, only certain months.
