I was reading a few flight reports on V-flyer and saw a few people mention the "beef" and "chicken " meals in Premium Economy.

Is the menu always the same?

Any comments on the quality of the food? (This is our fist time in PE!)Is it easier to gets drinks in PE? Last time in Economy we had two beers and a bottle of wine with the meal and that was it!

The quality of the food is no different from that in economy, but it is presented more attractively in china, rather than plastic and the choices are different from those offered to economy pax on the same flight. And, no, it's not always the same. Within reason you can have as much to drink as you like. Other than at main service times, you'll probably have to ask, but the cabin crew: passenger ratio is much greater, so it's a much easier undertaking.

ETA: In PE the main service times I mention are on boarding (they bring around trays of champagne, Buck's Fizz and orange juice), before meal service, during meal service and then they offer brandy or Bailey's afterwards. Or at least, they used to, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that's gone.

We were sat at the back of PE last year and they had run out of meat options for my husband so he had to have the economy meal. He said it was fine but I was annoyed as you pay so much more for PE.

Exactly the service we got last August on the new A330. :thumbsup2

Matt blogged about his PE experience, http://mathewgillings.wordpress.com/2011/08/29/home-at-last/
We had a choice of Braised Lamb curry, Chicken stew & a veggie option. You might be able to zoom in on the menu for more detail.

Only 50 days to us flying PE again :goodvibes

As for you not getting enough drinks in economy its upto you to ask for more or get up and fetch your own, drinks are available all flight unless your are told otherwise.

dont they now also do a cooked breakfast on the way back ?

They didn't last August, the menu I linked to was the return journey. Have they changed since then?
This summer we fly out VA PE but return Delta Economy Comfort so I won't find out.

Yes prior to landing however when we first had it last September DH said it was good but they changed it by February and he said it really wasnt good

I personally don't eat the breakfast as the smell turns my stomach!

In January there was no pre-dinner drink offered on the way out and no brandy/baileys offered on the night flight home. For once we had been planning on saying yes and it wasn't there! :rotfl2:
