Virgin pilots to stage summer strikes?

I really hope these strikes don't happen. I am due to fly on the 28th of June and the first day of strikes could be the 27th...I hope they do manage to sort something out...I've been looking forward to this holiday for almost a year now :sad1:

Hope this gets resolved quickly :headache:

The blinkin pilots ought to remember that everyone has their part to play and difficult decisions have to be made, when the country is in this mess.

My hubby hasn't had a pay rise since 2008, and I haven't had one for the last 2 years. They really need to get realistic. I feel sorry for everyone who have holidays booked and may be ruined.

Pilots earn a very high level of income compared to a lot of us and they should think themselves lucky. Maybe when we are over the bad times, then they can have a decent pay rise. But until then they should think themselves lucky to have a blinkin job!

Sorry rant over!

I saw this thread a last week, panicked, and chatted to someone I know who is a marketing manager for Virgin Atlantic at the HQ in Crawley. He said he can guarentee the strikes will not happen. Apparently they talk about this most years, but they hide it from getting to the media to protect the VA image. Just unfortunate it got out this year.

He said it always gets resolved, normally by them giving them what they want, beacuse VA will never let it get like BA purely to protect their image

Hope that helps!

Ooh I REALLY hope you're friend is right Katy! Myself and DGF have flights leaving from LGW on the 8th of July and have been pretty worried about the whole strike situation, hopefully if VA can take care of this quickly then we'll only have the blinkin' Volcano to worry about lol :rotfl:
