I have booked a package with Virgin Holidays.

I am realising from reading this board that making PS's 90 days in advance are crucial for some restaurants.

My question is what info do I need when I ring Disneyworld. I'm picking up that they need a reservation number or something, is this easy to get from virgin?

thanks

Hi - I didn't give a booking reference when I made a PM - you need to type in a number on the phone but I just used my phone number.

I booked a few reservations a month or two ago - and we're going with Virgin, when the message asked for a phone number, it didn't like what I typed, so I just pressed # a couple of times, and went through and spoke to someone who did the reservations for me without any problems.

The only details you need to give are time and date and the ADR you want ie Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's etc along with your name. If the ADR requires a deposit/full payment then a credit card number is needed. As anyone can book an ADR no reservation number is needed from you they just give you one for each ADR.

I made my first ever ADR last week for Fantasmic dinner package for December, and had real problems when typing in phone number, stayed on hold for 5 mins then gave up.
I then followed advice on another post and punched in the number which asked if I was visiting in the next 7/14 days (can't remember which), didn't ask for any details and got through in less than a minute :cool1: I expected a telling off for getting through to wrong line (had planned 'really sorry, first time' speech) but nothing said :)
2 tables booked at H&V on 23/12 :Pinkbounc

When it asks for a phone number of 10 digits I just knock off the first 0 from my home phone number and it works just fine :flower:

As i wanted to book dinners with disney and wanted to do it with the extra 10 day onsite thing, i phoned virgin and asked for my disney booking number which they gave, but otherwise you don't need it.

If it doesn't like your number it will out you through eventually. 12.00 is the time to start dialling to get them when they go on duty. I did have one jerk who pressed a wrong button and I could hear him chatting to his co-worker, so i rang off and tried again.

There's nothing like that first time when someone says "have a magical day" as you complete your business - its almost like you're there already!!

Thanks for your help.

Yes like a fool (or a typical woman) I want all the meals that are hard to get, CRT, Chef Mickey, Rose & Crown for illuminations (hoping for an outside table on the night - will just have to charm the hostess and keep fingers crossed) fantasmic dinner package etc.

I was hoping to do the 90 + 10 thing so I will ring virgin for my ressie number.

How annoying to have someone chatting to a colleague - don't they realise how crucial every second is for these bookings - or is it only us obsessed people!!! ;)

I think I must have been lucky when I booked our reservations! but I got all the ones I wanted with no problems - Chef Mickeys, Fantasmic etc, and I only phoned about 60 days ago.

you can book as long as you are in a disney hotel so if you booked througth virgin should be ok but if you change and not go to a disney hotel the ADRs are canceled

Actually I was more worried what DH would say when he saw the phone bill :guilty:
