Virgin Online Check in at Manchester

Hi there

Can anybody give me some information or experiences, good or bad, with using the online check in facility for Virgin Flights at Manchester Airport (UK). Last time we spent 40 minutes in a queue waiting on Virgin to check us in. Does the online check in circumvent this queuing and get you through quicker?

How do you drop your bags on etc?

We used online check-in last year and I'd certainly recommend it.

We checked in the day before the flight before driving down to Manchester. It means you dont need to wait in the 'Check in' Q and instead wait in the 'bag drop' Q which was next to the check-in Q.

It's not as simple as just dropping your bags and going as there's the usual checks (passport/bags etc) but the Q was shorter when we were there - I think we waited about 10-15mins.

Oh that sounds quite simple.

We used this in December..

Got to the airport early and there were no queues at all for the bag drop off. The bag drop off for OLCI was in the same place as the PE check in desk. Our cases did come off the PE carousel at MCO
Very easy to use.

We used the on-line check in for our December trip via Gatwick. It was very simple. I believe that you now enter your API (Advance Passenger Information) when you check in on-line (if you haven't already given the information when booking). This would should save time at the airport.
We actually got rid of our bags at twilight check in at Gatwick, so never saw what the bag drop off lines were like compared to normal check in lines.
