Guess I waited too long to decide.

Any other $25 plans with unlim. Text and data with 300 min?

Phone recommendations?

We just signed DD for this 2 months ago! That's a lot more than we were paying with Tracfone and now since switching she's addicted to texting.

It increased to $35 in July. I still think it's a great deal especially now that they have Android smartphones.

I love my Optimus V and the Virgin Mobile service is great.

We signed up in February so does that mean we still pay $25? Or do we have to top up $35 next month?

I had VM for a llong time but left over a yr ago becasue my sister put me on her Sprint plan//Her plan expired so i went back to VM two weeks ago...I bought the lg optimus and i too npoticed the increase to 35 but was going to do it anyway..much to my surprise the are keeping me on the 25 $ plan!! yippie even thought i hadnt used them for over a year...

T-Mobile has a $30 no contract plan with data. I'm leaning towards that one. It's been a while since I checked it out but am getting close to needing to make the decision. I want to buy the phone and get it on my Disney Visa so I can get the points before my October trip. :goodvibes I believe T-Mobile's coverage is better than VM.

This is only anecdotal, but I've been with T-Mo for years and my son was with VM for several years until just recently. A lot of times, especially in rural/forested areas, he had a *way* better signal than I did. Often he had a signal when I didn't at all! I was always very impressed with VM's coverage.

I recently switched him to I-Wireless Home, and we have both been happy with that too. The plan is $29.05/month with tax, and includes 200 minutes talk, unlimited text, and 200MB data. It's really just a matter of what you use your phone for the most -- My son talks basically none and texts non-stop, and uses the web and facebook sporadically, so it's a perfect plan for him. The other reason I switched to that plan is because I do most of my grocery shopping at Kroger, and DS gets bonus minutes from that.

The $30 (plus tax) T-Mo no-contract plan has 1500 minutes OR texts, but only 30MB data which would go really fast. But if you talk more than anything else, that's a good plan.

We have had VM for over a year my husband let his phone lapse for a month and called and payed yesterday and his plan was still $25. Maybe the new price only applies to new customers? Which is a plus =)

I had an Android on VM, and had to switch back to AT&T because of bad coverage (Upstate SC). Shame, I liked the unlimited stuff.

VM uses Sprint towers so basically if you get good sprint in your area VM will work too.

Unfortunately this is not entirely true.
We had been using VM for the last several months and we did some travelling this summer to locations that have good Sprint coverage. We had NO service for most of the trip. We had been told by the reps in the Sprint store that we would have coverage anywhere Sprint did, but that is not the case.
Pay close attention to the VM coverage map, NOT the Sprint one. Sprint uses other carrier towers in certain areas, but they do not always use those towers for VM due to cost.
Really wish we had been given the correct at the Sprint store when we were purchasing our VM phones.
We have since gone back to Verizon for exactly this reason.

We drove to Chicago about 90 miles from home and half way there our internet and text messaged stopped working! We could use the phone to make calls only. I am concerned since we are driving down to WDW about not having great reception.
