Hi, Can anybody tell me the best way to find miles plus money seats. We both have 30,000 miles each with virgin and I can't spend them. Everytime I search dates to spend miles or miles plus money it tells me no seats are available. Is it just pot luck or is there a better way to search.

Dates we are looking at are Oct 22nd or 23rd for a week or Dec 17th or 18th for a week.

Any advice you have would be great

Those are both peak times so would be few seats anyway and would of been released near the 11 month mark.

Claire ;)

As we can only fly in school hols I have found only way to find M&M prices is start searching the day they are released and search 5 or 6 times a day every day until you see them. If you don't you can easily miss them. Only problem is it could be months before you find them. We last looked for August 2008, I started searching from day 1 in Sept 2007 they did not release any until 25th Dec, Xmas day. Was a nice Xmas present for us but was beginning to think I would not get any. Cost £533 instead of over £800, saved £900.
Offpeak the saving are minimal, the scheme is nowhere near as good as it was IMO.

yes any seats to do with miels go really quickly, I used to get so many complaints about this when I worked for them

We got ours near the 11th month mark and we just searched and searched for them

IUt depends on how flexible you are
there are M + M flights available from heathrow to miami
£350.20 going out 21/10/09 and returning 28/10/09

Have a look at that route, or alternativly into New york and down

Thank you all for you answers. I have been searching on and off for months with no luck. We have to travel in school holidays which does not help i'm sure. Have just found out that October half term will be a week and a half in somerset this year which would have been great for a week long trip and then a few days to recover before returning to school. Will start looking around at other opptions. Thanks again for your advice :goodvibes

I think Obi's advice about flying into Miami is worth consideration - we did that route a couple of years ago and found it to be brilliant. the flight itsefl was great and it was around a 4 hour drive from Miami to Orlando so we got in to Disney around 8 pm, not really that much later than if we'd flown to Orlando.

And, if you're in Somerset, Heathrow would be more convenient for you too.

We flew in and out of Miami on our last trip and it's a bit of a drive up to Orlando but it's not that bad.

We are flying home from Miami on our next trip as we're flying into Washington so our car is going to be at Heathrow, we decided we would rather fly home from Miami to get back into Heathrow as it saves us quite a bit of the driving time when we land.
