This is a bit of a longshot but, does anyone know if I would be able to get VH to take out 3 nights of my accommodation at POFQ and add in a 3 night bahamian cruise instead? The only reason I'm wondering is that I know they do the cruises, but on a seperate website with resort and air travel included

No worries if not, just thought I would ask :thumbsup2

Not sure if they could help you or not but it would probably be cheaper to get them to just cancel the 3 nights at POR (or keep them and leave empty) then book the cruise yourself direct with Disney or Dreamsunlimited travel.
Couple of years ago I helped someone cancel a cruise booked thru Virgin(if I rember rightly) even with deposit lost they halfed the cost by booking direct.

I would get a price for cruise yourself then ring and ask your options.

I'm perfectly happy to keep them and just leave them empty for the time we're not there, but DF doesn't want to pay for a room, dining plan etc we're not going to use...I can see use using the extra DDP credits but fair enough.

My only worry about cancelling nights is the affect it would have on the reservation, as it would probably have to be in the middle of our trip. We're going for 18 nights and have 21 day tickets...with effectively two reservations, how would this be managed?

Thanks :goodvibes

If you cancel 3 nights in the middle of a Disney stay with free DDP you will lose DDP when you return. Free DDP is only for a consecutive nights stay, check out and it stops.

Is it QSDDP or have you upgraded to regular DDP? if upgraded you could use the spare credits gained while on the cruise for doing more signatures or Dinner shows that require 2 credits. If QSDDP then you probably wouldn't need the spare credits.

Yeah, we have upgraded to the DDP

Based on that, and the fact DF won't budge on keeping the rooms and just leaving them empty, I think I'll try and twist his arm for a cruise next yr or the yr after. Just easier that way I think :thumbsup2

Thanks again for your help :goodvibes

We have done it ourselves, at least keeping the room you have somewhere to store your luggage. Its a bit of a pain taking it all on a cruise.

If it was a longer cruise then I could understand not wanting to leave empty but for 3 nights its only worth about £300 and you get to use the credits which will cover a lot of it.

Something to look forward to for next time though.

We are doing a three night cruise in the middle of a Virgin Holiday's package holiday to Wilderness Lodge and are just keeping the room. We are using the extra dining credits to try some signature places and do Hoop Dee Doo

We booked the cruise seperately through Dreams Unlimited

For our 2012 hotel/cruise I think we will just book all the individual elements ourselves as it seems to A) be cheaper and B) more flexible

Wayne - I will no doubt be asking for your help :rolleyes1
