Hi

Some friends of ours booked with Virgin Holidays for their first visit to WDW.
They are going in August, primarily so they can get the free dining plan.

They tried to start making ADR's a few days ago only to be told that they did not have the dining plan. After checking their invoice it appears that Virgin had not added it. Of course, they probably should have checked more thoroughly when they received the invoice, but they didn't even realise that it should be shown on there.
Virgin customer service department (in India of course) said it was now too late to add it and there was nothing they can do. After much tooing and froing and a lot of anger and tears they are still not getting much further forward.

Has anybody got a phone number for Virgin Holidays in the UK or any advice they could offer on the subject?

Many thanks

Kev

When I had a problem a few weeks ago and wasn't having any luck with the India call centre I phoned Virgin again and then when the operator asks what service you want I asked to speak to someone UK based and they put put me straight thru to someone over here who managed to sort it. Hope your friends sort their problem out :goodvibes

Kev, I'm sure I've read recently that to avoid the Indian Call Centre, you should phone during normal working hours (i.e. not evenings or weekends). My suggestion would be to use the Frequent Virgin Club phone number. As with the Flying Club numbers, you'll always get through to UK staff.

I was phoning in the day and kept getting the India call centre until I asked for the UK one.

let us know how you get on

the same thing happened to me, i realised the ddp was not on my invoice, i did realise pretty early on and called virgin who told me not to worry they will put it on and send me a new invoice, agree with the others and phone in working hours, i got to speak to a uk reprasentative who was very helpful, hope it gets sorted out.

I also recommend phoning the Frequent Virgin number. In all the times i have rang them i have spoken to someone UK based. It's worth a try.Good Luck to your friends:thumbsup2 .x.

It still doesn't explain why they were unable to make any ADR's without the dining plan, plenty of people don't have it, we won't be having it next time we go as we found it didn't work well for us so they should go ahead and book their ADR's anyway while they try to sort things out with Virgin. Best of luck to them.

Yes this seems odd. Kev did they try making ADR's with WDW directly or have they tried to arrange it via Virgin (not even sure of Virgin offer such a service). But as stated above ADR's are not linked to DDP in anyway :confused3

agree with what some others have said Kev, press the option for The Frequent Virgin Club, always get someone in the UK then, I hope things get sorted for them x

I am lost with this one:rotfl2:
Havn't Virgin only just started giving free dining a few days ago? from the 12th?
If your friends already had invoice and tried booking ADR's a few days ago then they must have booked before free ding offer surely?

i have just got out my invoice, as previously stated i did not add the ddp when i first booked, but when i got my invoice i noticed the ddp was not on, i rang virgin holidays who were more than happy to help and sent me out with a new invoice with the ddp attached. my invoice reads.

FREE DISNEY DINING PLAN OFFER TERMS AND CONDITIONS; APPLIES TO DEPATURES 10 AUGUST 2008 THROUGH TO 27 SEPTEMBER 2008, FOR BOOKINGS MADE 23 AUGUST 2007 TO THE 6 NOVEMBER[007/COLOR]

i hope i am wrong on this, but it looks like if they did not ammend it before the 6 november, they are not taking any responsibilty, i booked through the website which would of made it my responsibility, if they booked through a travel agency different scenario.

Thanks for the replies.

Maybe I didn't explain very well. They could have made ADR's, it's just that it was only at this point that they realised they hadn't been given the free dining plan. It isn't the ADR's that's the problem, it's the fact that Virgin now want them to pay nearly £1,200 (2 adults, 2 children) for the dining plan.

Andrea, you are exactly right - the problem appears to be that they booked the free dining offer (departures between 10th August and 27th September) for bookings made before November 6th.
Obviously Virgin have taken the view that because the original booking did not include the free dining plan, they will not add it now as it is after November 6th. This seems very unfair to me, partucularly in view of the fact that Virgin cocked up by not adding the dining plan to their invoice in the first place.

Our friends have actually managed to talk to someone in the UK now and they are being a little more helpful, they have offered to meet half way and add the dining plan for £600. I'm not sure I'd accept this.

Kev

I definitely wouldn't accept it, Kev. At the end of the day, Disney offers free dining during that period, doesn't it? It isn't a Virgin concession.

Kev, I think you should speak to them and pretend to be your friend. The combination of your knowledge of all things Disney and your tempered demeanour will knock 'em sideways. (For the avoidance of doubt, I mean this most sincerely folks).

Surely anyone who booked at the appropriate time is entitled to it and Virgin made the error so they should sort it out.

Do they have Disney tickets on the invoice? Don't you have to buy them in order to get the free dining or am i getting confused (I often do)?
